It looks like Adobe updated their Flash Player today so if you are experiencing audio and video players stopping around the internet, this should resolve the issue.

Songs for Michael Foster of Avalanche
Greetings all!
I received a message from David Pendragon about a project he has put together for Michael Foster from the band Avalanche.
As some of you know, Michael is in the hospital and could use a little bit of support to get him back on track. Some of you may remember when we did the Songs for Rob (Grant) when he was in the hospital a few years back. This is the same thing. Healing through music!
Michael has been a huge part of Mixposure.com and I think this is a great time for us to step in and thank him for being a part of Mixposure and supporting us through the years. I am going to see if I can find the interview Mike K did with him and we can get that posted for everyone to listen to.
So please follow this post on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/groups/524345730945574/?notif_t=group_r2j and post a link to your tune on Mixposure and hopefully some well wishes for Michael. Michael has been sick for a few years and he and I have had some discussions around his illness and the medical profession in general.
This will only take a few seconds of your time and defiitely is being done for the right reason. Come on Mixposure, let's song bomb the facebook thread with some music!

Sooooo
First of all, apologies about the Flash players and the start stop thing. I have been looking at the Flash Forum and it looks like they have a fix and they are testing it out. Hopefully it will be released soon.
The testing on the new site is going well and with luck we will be releasing in the next few weeks. I am looking for a new host now and we may change our host first and get that out of the way. Then we can change the site over. Oh the good times!
Anyway thanks for being a part of Mixposure everyone. The site will get a little dusty as we start making changes to it so please bear with us!

Chris Georgiou - Mixposure.com Artist of the Month
Congratulations to Chris Georgiou for being the Mixposure.com Artist of the Month. Chris has been around Mix since the early days and is just an amazing musician.
Biography
After a long time band performance it was time to look forward for my inspiration into instrumental music and beyond. Some pieces are more spacey due to my influences of seventies experimental music, base of all certainly is Rock and Blues and classic.
But there should be no borderlines in writing only a free mind, that's how things work.

Audio Players and Internet Explorer
Hey Everyone! I am hearing that there are some issue with our Flash Players and Internet Explorer. We are looking into the issue but in the mean time, please use Firefox or Chrome.
This issue is kind of odd because we have not mad any changes to the site. As most of you have read, we will be revamping the entire site with pretty much all new code in the next month or so.
Our apologies for the issue but please know that we are working on trying to resolve it.
The odd thing is that it appears to be an issue only on this site. I have checked out our embedded players on multiple sites and they play fine!
UPDATE -- http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1192612 This is a bug in Flash. You can downgrade, use a different browser or wait for the fix which should be out soon.

Future Mixposure Changes
I just wanted to let everyone know that we will be releasing a new Mixposure version in the not so distant future. The overall look will be pretty much the same so no need to get upset that we are recreating the wheel or making drastic Facebook like changes. I am testing out the new layout now and from what I see you guys are going to love it. It is much easier to use and will be a lot more intuitive.
As an example, we will be back on one server. This was not a huge deal because you could always use the mixposure.com/artist_name vs www2.mixposure.com/artist_name. I was just not a huge fan of the www2 so I am glad that will be gone.
On the artist page, if you want to add a new song, once logged in you will see a plus (+) button. Just click the plus button to add a new song to your page. There will be a "x" to delete it or an "o" to update it.
If you want to change your artist image, while logged in, just click it. You will then get the screen to change it.
You will also be able to "Follow" other members.
These are just a few of the cool features that will be available. I will be posting more info as I get deeper into it but I thought I would share.

MixStream Radio and Zeus Radio
Folks, I have good news for you! MixStream Radio was recently given the opportunity to share the music of the Mixposure.com artists whom we serve with a much larger audience. Thanks for this goes to Ked! We are now streaming MixStream Radio on The Zeus Radio Network.
Currently the page is located here - http://www.zeusradio.com/ but we are in the process of changing the icon and the landing page once the Mixposure icon is clicked.
This is not a financial transaction and no money is changing hands. The owner of Zeus Radio Network has not purchased Mixposure! This is just a chance for the artists of Mixposure to reach a much larger listening audience. Zeus has access to millions of listeners. If we can tap into a small fraction of that audience, it is a win for all of us.
As always, as a Mixposure artist you have the option to choose to not have your music played on the station. It's a simple check in a box to have your music excluded from broadcast.
Thanks for being a part of Mixposure! You truly are the best musicians on the planet.

Facebook Audio Players
For some reason our Facebook song player got a little corrupted and was only displaying a link to the page instead of posting the player on Facebook. If you are not sure how to add songs to facebook, you can use the below. Also many of the players have Facebook buttons in them to add them directly to social networking sites.
From your artist page ie. mixposure.com/your_name there is a FB Share button below the player. That will add all songs to FB.
Alternatively, if you just want a single song, go to your artist page, click on the music tab, click the button next to the song for Review and Info to bring you to the song focus page. Then just click the share button for FB.

New Mixposure Contest for Valentine's Day
Well this is going to be a new one by Mixposure Standards lol. WildCherry and I were thinking about this and thought it would be a great fit for Mixposure. Winner of this contest gets a Mixposure T-Shirt or Polo. Limited to sizes we have in stock!
So what is the contest? Well it is pretty hard to read any news source and not see something about Taylor Swift. Yes every time she gets dumped, she is in the studio writing about her experience. There are break up songs about everyone she has dated and it is getting kind of funny. With this in mind, we need everyone to come up with their best Taylor Swift break up song!
Vocals are going to be key in this one with some fun lyrics. Your song can be any genre you like, serious or comical. Due date will be February 14th of course.
Please post any questions you have!!
Todd
***Update***
Apparently not everyone is in on the joke for this contest so I thought maybe I should clarify.
The contest is for a Valentines Day Song. With that in mind, it was a great opportunity to basically have some fun at Taylor Swift's expense. Since she gets dropped more than passes in the NFL and then writes a song about each time, what a great chance to have a laugh about it. Everyone else is laughing about it!
Please upload the songs to your account and use a song genre of "Valentine Day 2013" so we can track them all.

Site Speeds
Just wanted to touch base with everyone about the site speeds lately. We have had some ups and downs but hopefully our host has resolved the last issue. The artists pages are on a separate sever and have always run pretty well. Navigating the other areas was kinl of slow at times. There was a fix put in today that should hopefully alleviate that slowness.
I have run a few speed tests and have seen some improvement so hopefully you will too!!

2013
2012 was an awesome year for Mixposure and I wanted to thank everyone of you for making it happen! We have had a lot of new members sign up and we saw some of our artists hit some major accomplishments. Truthfully one of my favorites of 2012 was Ked's interview of Carl Dixon! Kooders Mix Files has been an amazing segment on Mixstream Radio.
Thanks to everyone on Mix for making 2012 a great year. Let's hope 2013 is even more amazing. Big thanks to the admins. mods and especially the dj's. You guys are true rockstars!
Nothing like getting youe Gibos ES335 Guitar Smashed! I used to take my Les Paul on planes but I would never check it. They forced this guy to check it and he paid the price.

Apologies
Our apologies for the down time yesterday. There was a server issue that affected the artist pages as well as some other areas. I could not even post a blog message about the issue so I had to resort to the shoutbox!
It looks like everything is up and running again and there appears to be no data loss. Looks like we dodged a bullet there!
Have a great day everyone and again, sorry for the down time!

Apologies
I just wanted to take a few minutes here and apologize to everyone since I have not been around as much as I wanted to be in the last month. After two years of searching WildCherry and I finally found a house we wanted and closed on it last week. We are having some upgrades made on it this weekend and plan on moving in on Monday. As you can imaging the last month has been pretty busy.
I am hoping we get, dare I say it?, Comcast installed on Monday so we have internet access immediately. I have been using Qwest aka CenturyTel's DSL and I have never been happy with it so it is time to try something new.
It looks like my studio will be in the basement which in all honesty is not necessarily a bad thing. The man cave is sort of finished but really needs an overhaul. Maybe in a few years after I have two nickels to rub together .
Again my apologies for not updating things as fast as they should be ie. Artist/Song of the Week, Newsletters etc. It looks like I will be doing some music again in the not so distant future.

Thanks Ked and Carl
I just wanted to say thanks to Ked and Carl Dixon for the great show last night. What an amazing night! To have Carl on Mixstream Radio playing live music was nothing short of awesome. I have never been so happy to be a part of this site!
Ked did a remarkable job interviewing Carl not to mention playing on a few tunes. It was a joy to listen to the music. The one thing I have always said is that if you want to find talent, listen to musicians playing live acoustic. There is nothing to hide behind. The music is in its cleanest and rawest (is that a word?) form. Carl shined in this department! Talk about sounding good lol!!
Ked recorded the show and we will be have the rebroadcast shortly.
Thanks to Carl, Ked and everyone in chat and everyone who tuned in to listen!

Oh No - Carvin Ends Acoustic Line
So I have been debating on buying a new acoustic and was absolutely blown away when I found out Carvin is ending their Acoustic Cobalt line! There are only 2 models left in stock now!
I can understand the logic behind it but this just kills me. My C850 is an amazing sound. When I compared it to Takemine's and Martin's I had to get to the $1800 price range to find a sound I liked. I paid $750 for the C850!
So very said to see them kill the line. The truly were a remarkable guitars.

Sarah Smith - Mixposure Artist of the Month
Kooder and I, as well as a few others, discussed this during the Mix Files Interview with Sarah. It was such a great interview amd musc it seemed only fitting that we make Sarah the Mixposure Artist of the Month.
Congrats Sarah and thanks for being a part of Mixposure and sharing your music with us!
Bio:
September 25, 2012 With the release of her debut solo album "Stronger Now" (Produced by Kevin Doyle), Sarah Smith is proving that she is in fact, stronger than ever. A London, Ontario native, Sarah earned national recognition with her rock band The Joys, who achieved certified GOLD status, charted nationally on College Radio in 2009 & 2010 and won Best Rock Act at the Jack Richardson Music Awards, also in 2010. Their music has saturated the industry through licensing to Sony Playstation, Teletoon, Majority Rules, CAKE the movie starring Heather Graham, and the OUT TV show, Chris & Johnʼs Road Trip. Known as “the hardest working band in Canada”, The Joys have sold more than 15,000 albums and shared the stage with world-class artists such as The Trews, Sloan, Arkells, Bedouin Soundclash, Crash Karma, Thornley, Edwin, Big Sugar, The Salads, Sam Roberts, Robert Plant, Matthew Good, K-OS, Honeymoon Suite, Loverboy, David Wilcox, Snoop Dogg, Colin James, The Headpins, 54-40, Kim Mitchell, Uncle Cracker and Finger Eleven. By stepping outside the boundaries of The Joys to bring audiences her own voice, Sarah
Smith cultivated a sound built on her experiences. She enjoyed immediate success as a solo artist, claiming awards for Best Singer/Songwriter in 2009 and 2010 at the London Music Awards, and was host of the Jack Richardson Music Awards in 2011.
Often associated with the likes of Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge, Sarahʼs powerhouse vocals shine through in hits like "Shine Bright" and “The Stars” which deliver the usual passion, raw emotion and texture fans have come to expect. Stronger Now is a testament to the paradoxically strong, yet tender voice that has made Sarah famous. See Sarah Smith live: www.sarahsmithmusic.com

RS Cain - Song of the Week
Congrats to Bobby Cain for having the Mixposure Song of the Week. This is a great tune called the Ballad of Red Dirt Eddie. I really liked this tune and hopefully you will also!
Bio:
I'm a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from central Kentucky. My music is a mix of many different influences; from the country and western I heard as a child to some stuff I heard yesterday.
I was a full time, working musician for over twenty years; doing clubs and concerts all over the eastern U.S., but mainly in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. I have played every kind of venue; from the smallest, seediest club to 10,000 seat concert halls. Loved every minute of it.
I also spent many hours in various studios as both musician and producer on a variety of projects.
I am now a part time musician; I play in several different bands including "Death Row Bodine"" , my main live band, and "The Mopley Crew", a jam band with some of my oldest and best friends.
I write songs mostly to make you shake your money maker. I'm not deep, and I'm certainly no virtuoso. Everything you hear here is me, there's no one else to blame.

Kooder's Mix Files
If you have not checked out The Mix Files with Kooder on Saturday Night, you are missing something truly special. The interviews he is doing with Mix Artists are nothing short of amazing!
Tonight Kooder featured an interview with Mix Artist Sarah Smith. Those of us in chat I think all had our jaws on the floor. What a talented individual! She is an exceptional Musician with some killer vocals and guitar skills.
Kooder will be uploading the interview to the Mix Podcast and I will post a link to it. Do me a favor and have a listen!
Kudos to Kooder for taking the time to do the interviews. It just keeps getting better!!
Not that there was anything major in this article but I thought it was interesting. I have been a long time VH fan as well as a long time Sammy fan so I have the utmost respect for each of them.
Eddie however seems to really feel he is the genius behind everthing which I find hard to believe. When he says "Playing All My Songs" I kind of have to laugh. In the Sammy days, I know who was writing the lyrics and the memorable choruses. In the end, it is a group that make a band whole. I think this is why U2 has and always will be successful. The split everything equally. Less chance of ego' and jealousy getting in the way!
A few days ago we reported on Eddie Van Halen's recent radio interview with Howard Stern, but nothing but a transcription can capture the true insanity of this exchange -- it's taken us hours and hours just to process Van Halen's vitriolic comments about David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar and how his 15-year old son Wolfgang is a better bass player than Michael Anthony. Let's go straight to the highlights:
On curing his tongue cancer without chemo or radiation: Eddie Van Halen: "I cured my cancer in a way that's not exactly legal in this country. I'd tell you, but I don't want to go to jail. When you drink your damn draino it just holds it at bay. It comes back. Cancer is like a cockroach. It just comes back stronger. I'm tearing apart the immune system of the cockroach and seeing how it ticks. I've opened up my own pathology center. Some of us open tequila bars in Mexico, I'm curing cancer. They cut a healthy piece of my tongue off and grew healthy cells outside of my body and tested them. I'm missing a third of my tongue. They butchered me. I didn't quit smoking after I got tongue cancer cause smoking didn't cause it."
On a possible reunion with David Lee Roth: HS: "Diamond David Lee Roth never wanted piano in Van Halen." EVH: "You mean cubic zirconia?" HS: "You're never going to do a reunion with him, are you?" EVH: "Ummm...You know, I'm open to anything." HS: "Really? He makes it seem like you are never open..." EVH: "In 2000 Alex and I tried to pull something together with him." HS: "What happened? You couldn't stand being around him?" EVH: "No, the guys's a loose cannon - but I can deal with loose cannons." Robin: "Everyone says you're the problem." EVH: "Yeah, because I don't respond or talk about this stuff."
On Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony's current Sans Halen tour: EVH: "Michael Sobolewski [Michael Anthony's real last name] is out touring with 'the little red rocker' ... I mean the little red worm. I got no problem with these guys, but they're billing themselves as the other half of Van Halen. My brother is the other half of Van Halen. They're out there selling hot sauce and tequila and playing all my songs. It doesn't bother me. It just makes them a cover band."
On the porno movie he wrote two songs for: EVH: "I don't call it porn. I call it sex. It's like Braveheart with a **** shot. Everyone's giving me their dweeb opinion about this - but without sex you wouldn't be here to give me your dweeb opinion."
On his new girlfriend: EVH: "I have a girlfriend. Her name's Janie. She's a press agent...You're damn right she's super hot. We met at a press conference. We've been together two months."
On his fifteen-year-old son Wolfgang joining Van Halen: EVH: "My son Wolfgang plays drums, guitars and bass. This kid is fucking dangerous. If I excel at the speed of sound, he excels at the speed of light. My brother goes, 'This is the first time I've had bass in my headphones.' He's only fifteen years old and he's getting laid. He's spanking it too." HS: "How do you know that?" EVH: "When you spend 45 minutes in the bathroom you're not taking a shower. Valerie and I have joint custody of Wolfgang. For the last couple of weeks Alex, he and I have been jamming together." HS: "You wouldn't go back on the road with Hagar, would you?" EVH: "I'm pretty much open to anything. What's going to happen is that there's a new member of Van Halen, and that is my son." HS: "I'm hearing your son is in and Michael Anthony is out." EVH: "My son is in and Sobolewski can do whatever he wants. The name Van Halen, the family legacy, is going to go on long after I'm gone. This kid is just a natural. I'm going to have him play on a solo record, and it's going to be out - he and I."

Terry Ponder - Mix Artist of the Month!
Congratulations to Terry Ponder for being Mixposure's Artist of the Month! Terry had been a part of Mixposure since the early days and has some great music!
Bio:
My name is Terry Ponder, I have played Music for most of my life and it’s a big part of my life, I also Love to produce and record, which in later years has become a very big passion. I have a small home studio and create all the music you hear from there. In recent years I have gotten kind of away from the Live gig scene and have started trying to do more in studio work, I enjoy this a lot. Between myself, My buddies David Goehring and Lance McAllister, we have a great time in the studio creating more of what we like to think of as Works of Art than just music, I truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The Return of Mike-K
As many of you know, Mike Kohlgraf has been on an extended leave from Mix Radio due to some health issues. Mike is planning on coming back on the air Saturday September 1st from 10PM EST until at least Midnight. Mike has a tendency to want to go longer but my hope is he limits his shows. It is an absolute honor having Mike back on the air.
Kooder will be on before Mike and will continue doing the Mix Files which I personally have thoroughly enjoyed! We have a great bunch of DJ's on Mixposure and I can't thank each of them enough. They dedicate countless hours to bring the best indie artists to the internet. So my thanks to each of you!

Ron Pestana
Sunday on TheChillZone with your host ThePolarBear a tribute will be paid to a Mixposure Artist who has left his mortal coil on the earth to join the great ones in the universe of heavens.
Ron Pestana... was first and foremost a race car driver.... but his heart pumped rock and roll into his racing and some pretty amazing songs came out as a result. Ron wrote songs about racing from the drivers perspective.. serious rock tunes with a view to the world of racing that only precious few get to see.
In song and lyric Ron tells it like it is.. sometimes with tounge firmly planted in cheek hence the song "Last when you Crash" or the haunting and very sureal song "hot lap my ashes" He always told the truth about his life of racing... a truth that will ring in your ears like a weekend at a good loud stock car race at the local roundy round.... We will also feature a monologe from Ron's Racing and Music partner Mr Bill Bentley....
As a fitting tribute to the man whom i was humbled to call a friend we wish to celebrate his life in music and racing... Please join me ThePolarBear for this special show starting at 8pm EST Sunday the 12th of 2012 on MixStreamRadio

Christina Crofts - Mixposure Song of the Week!
Congratulations to Christina Crofts for having the Mixposure Song of the Week for July 22nd! This a great tune and you can check it out below.
Biography
As one of 7 children Christina learned early in life to paddle her own canoe. Moved by music from a very early age, Christina nagged her mum into buying her an electric guitar and amp at around 14 years of age and she messed about with chords which she taught herself by watching other players on tv etc. That was the extent of it until her early 20's when she met (and later married) Steve Crofts, who was playing guitar in a local band, and who was so impressed with her natural ability on guitar that he offered to give her guitar lessons. From then on Christina played in various cover bands in Sydney until the mid 1990's when she decided to form and front her own band, a 3 peice blues/rock cover band called 'Croftstown Traffic'.
In 2007 she decided to change tactics a little and go out under her own name with a whole batch of original new tunes, and in 2008 recorded and released her debut CD Midnight Train, which continues to be very well reviewed.
Christina is working steadily in and around Sydney and is definitely shaking up the rock and blues audiences around town.

Some People Do Not Get It
I read about this a few days ago and was just blown away. Some people do not see the importance of music and the effect it has on people. London will feel the effects of this from the outpouring of the music community for months to come. Truthfully they deserve the full wrath of every music lover.
I understand the time concerns and the fact that it is also a residential area. I had a water park being built close to my last house. What did I do? I moved! When you live next to a concert venue, you must have realized when buying your house, apartment or whatever you dwell in that there was going to be loud music, traffic etc.
Pulling the plug on Sir Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen in front of 65,000+ people I am surprised there was not a riot. If they would have told me to turn them off, I would have mentioned the fact that security was kind of light. Are you sure this is what you want to do?
LONDON – Concert organizers pulled the plug on rock stars Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney after the pair defied the sound curfew at London's Hyde Park, silencing their microphones at the tail end of the show.
Springsteen had already exceeded the 10:30 p.m. curfew by half an hour Saturday night when he welcomed McCartney on stage and the pair sang the Beatles hits "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Twist and Shout." But the microphones were turned off before they could thank the crowd, forcing them to leave the stage in silence.
A statement from concert organizer Live Nation said it was unfortunate that Springsteen's three-hour-plus performance was stopped "right at the very end," but it said that the curfew had been laid down by the authorities "in the interest of the public's health and safety."
Huge concerts in Hyde Park, a 350-acre (140-hectare) expanse of landscaped garden and parkland that abuts some of London's wealthiest neighborhoods, have increasingly caused friction between fans and the area's well-heeled residents, many of whom gripe about the late-night noise and nuisance.
With complaints on the rise, local officials have decided that as of next year, the number of concerts will be slashed from 13 to nine. Also in 2013, they plan to reduce crowd limits from 80,000 to 65,000.
Steven Van Zandt, who plays guitar in Springsteen's E-Street Band, criticized Saturday's decision as heavy-handed.
"English cops may be the only individuals left on earth that wouldn't want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney!" he wrote on Twitter. "On a Saturday night! Who were we disturbing?" Finally he added: "There's no grudges to be held. Just feel bad for our great fans. ... It's some City Council stupid rule."
London's flamboyant mayor, Boris Johnson, said Sunday that the singers should have been allowed to keep going.
"It sounds to me like an excessively efficacious decision," he told London radio. "You won't get that during the Olympics. If they'd have called me, my answer would have been for them to jam in the name of the Lord!"
