that's lovely orchestral string writing in the intro bud.. into a smooth groove with a really evocative guitar sound.. man that EVH jump reminding vibe to it is a real winner and very catchy.. what i love most though are those live drums bud.. i gotta get cured of machines man.. this is the only way to go.. live and well as hell!!.. I like that lead theme in there.. nice tone on that axe.. this is groovin to the max.. this rock don't need no sax.. diggin it front to back.. kudos drummer man.. :-)

Very nice song writing indeed. Nice melody and a kind of van halen feel ouot the song... Some nice guitar work indeed. I would bring those up a tad. The drums are nice, crisp and clean. Just for me,the old guitarist, more volume please on the guitars,we tend to get deaf as we get older LOL But no,in all seriousness... A very nicely written piece,I really like the whole feel to the song. Most enjoyed. Nigel.

Yes, a great groove. Love the bass/drum stomp happening. Guitarwork is spot on, just enough and plenty of melody. Shifts gears so well... Damned fine songwriting! Peace, Jim

Excellent piece Bud. Gives me a real 80s vibe which is good, I loved the music back then. FANTASTIC groove. I did find the volume a tad low still but that's an easy fix. Great work my friend, thoroughly enjoyed!
User Image
peter (20 Apr 2008 05:30 AM)
This sounds like it was mixed by the drummer lol. It does still seem a little low in volume overall but also it sounds to me like the guitars might need to come up just a little in the mix. Nice groove and some sweet playing by all involved. Who's that on guitar?

You know this is a superb song. But, I just get feeling good about something I have done and then I listen to this and I realize how much more I have to do to even get average. Really a great effort and result. Bud, I hope you know you do set the bar a little high for the rest of us mortals.

Good track. I really like the tasty guitar playing and whole drum groove is killer.
User Image
Dazed (17 Jan 2008 07:47 AM)
well I guess if you mixed this is why we hear the guitars in the background and the drums in front more lol. I think guitarist who mix their tunes always put the guitars out front hehe. Drums sound fantastic! Great fills as well. Guitar playing is tasty indeed. I agree it ended kind of quick though. Good tune!
User Image
peter (17 Jan 2008 07:00 AM)
Great groove. I'm breaking in some new headphones and they may have a bit less presence than my old ones but it seemed to me the guitar parts were buried a little in the mix. But a very cool track indeed.
User Image
bluespckr (17 Jan 2008 06:00 AM)
Geeze, turn this booger up! I really had to crank up the volume in the headphones. It's just mastered or mixed on the low side. The only other production comment I have is that it does end kind of abruptly. Okay -- but this song is the stuff, man. Great blues vibe, propelled by the drums. Mo' cowbell, indeed. I love that clang-clang-clang in this. Nice blues tone on the geeter. My Bluespckr Pick DuJour goes to you and this song. It got my blood up and perculating.
User Image
WILDHONEYPIE (17 Jan 2008 02:26 AM)

There's a chord change in there that reminds me of Take Me To The River by Talking Heads but the rest is just some excellent funk. Loved the sax and guitar solos, the keybord fills, and of course the bass and drums are superb. Excellent musicians at work and play here.

Wow this is really professional stuff here. Nice vibe through the entire song, the song would work great as a TV show theme. It kept reminding me of the theme to Sanford and Sons. The Sax and the guitar riff are juicy, the keys keep the background covered... great stuff.
