bout time i reviewed this one too.. even if i get none from you.. lol.. like the guitar a lot.. especially the tone.. don't like the drums.. bass is ok.. baby please don't go.. van morrison could be part of your show.. ooh.. i liked a couple of those tones in there immensly.. the 9th i think it was..
how you landed on that was awesome.. now i think my fave part is this voodoo clean tone delay section.. love that tone.. and your good picking fits this style well.. again those couple outside chords and harmonics are my fave parts.. a cool catchy guitar track donna.. thank you.. :-)
Sure the backing is one heard a thousand times before and therefore in my opinion a cliche ! But hey it's just a hang up for this showcase of you guitar talents ! That's some nice inventive and inspirational playing you pulled of here ! Love all them different sound and fast licks ! The way you build up tension is cool !
Baby please don't go ! Yup !
Greetz from Holland !

Baby please don't go ! haha !

Oh Yeah. Instant toe-tapper here! :-) Wow, I am utterly impressed by your licks and tones of your axes. Superb sound. Very talented, indeed. Good luck with all your future projects, Donna!

Listened to some of your songs...I'm not gonna tell you what a great accomplished adventurous impressive guitar player you are...You know that...What I do want to tell you is that the bass player and the drummer are irreplaceable...

Wow!!!! What a guitar sound and flying fingers, my lady!!!!!

Saw the title and was waiting for something by KISS's Ace Frehley with the same title. Then the Golden Earring "Radar Love" bass came in, and I knew I was in for a much different ride.
An amazing trip into anything but the void with this artistic barrage of melody. Hot track!
Man!!!!
The guitar is HUGE!!!!
This is a pumpin' track...the guitar work is just awesome...and is recorded perfectly.
Excellent production on this....

awesome job Donna. guitar work is smoking! not a huge fan of this mix but the song is solid as hell!
Every song you add is a surprise...like this one.....sultry, sexy and delirious.... barely controlled excitement ...and you know what...fruit is healthy...forbidden or not...so I take a big bite.
hi everyone,
i want people on the site to remember i am doing all the recording at home on my roland vs 1680 work station. i am playing all the instruments with the exception of the drum tracks. they are not perfect recordings but the best i can do for now.
Hey Donna!
Once I played first song I had to keep going through all your six contributions!
Ver surprising powerful sound and flying fret mastery embelished by outstanding beauty....
What else can we ask for?
Emilio
I have heard the instrumentals before, which were sublimely played. Now you add a powerful voice?! Some things just aren't fair. I'd love to hear some harmonies or doubling, especially on the "Baby..." parts. Nicely done.
great song... guitar is dripping with rock n roll.
Donna, not only do you tear the **** out of the guitar on this, but you sing it quite well too. Just a technical observation... A solid rock and roll tune, one to add to your collection of great songs!
Thanks for sharing your music here.
Peace,
Jim

i tryed to change to a more melodic feel for this even though it was straight ahead rock i felt the eric johnson ,vai, was so out there it might work. glad you liked it. its a fun song for me.i wanted my vocals to get the powerful cross between some of the 70's power rock singers like ann heart meets glenn hughes and they have a baby and she sings like this. something like that!!
donna

Very good tune...toneage/pluckage is top notch...
Well that was....well that was just "all that" and then some...really enjoyed the 70's feel...kinda like early Lee Ritenour....nice job!!
hi,
for those asking my mothers name was Faith this song was written for her and i wanted it to have old school feel jeff beck voicing with a little jazz flare.
The only thing I don't agree is with the 70's paradigm. Music is timeless... Specially compositions like this one, with a lot of bebop feel in it... If I would have to set an era or time frame I would place this great performance in the 2012, the renaissance of good music, as it is arriving!!!!!
Thank you Donna for sharing your enormous versatility !!!!!!
Emilio

OHH this groove!!!!!! OHHHH the guitar playing!!!!. You are certainly a very versatile musician indeed. This song demonstrates your considerable guitar chops INDEED!
I just love this groove.. and your tone puncutates everything just perfect. The one thing i notice most about your playing.. is the space you leave intbetween notes and phrases.. it really makes the notes you do play come across with more depth and power.. I did enjoy the tones you used on this.. from raw blusy strat like tones.. to smoother EJ type tones...Great stuff indeed Donna
Nice playing indeed! Always enjoy good fusion.
MV
Great job of capturing that jazz groove. The bass part must've been a real bear to get down. I like the tone you chose for the guitar on this, too. Very appropriate for the genre. Excellent work!
Peace,
Jim
this was a first attempt to capture the 70's feel of beck and fusion when i wrote this. i wrote all the drums and bass and keys for the song. the drummer had the most problems because it was hard for him to hear the crazy in and out of timing. but it worked and it turned out lovely. it is dedicated to my mother who was from that time. her name was Faith.
much luv your way,
donna
WOW!!! This is quite....AWESOME!!! You are WILD!!! Going for a second listen on this one......WHEW!!! LOVE your playing on this.....since the first electric Return to Forever LP came out, in the 70's, I have been a fusion fanatic.......this is TOP NOTCH and stands on it's own. EXCELLENT JOB!! Your bass player and drummer are VERY TIGHT!!! I say...OUCH!! WHEW!! CHEERS!
Rob :-)

Man this is sure a change of pace from Sex and Love and Rock and Roll that I heard yesterday. This is a beautifully "chill" piece of jazz funk. Lovely progressions and sweet sweet melody. Loved your playing on this one. Sweet work indeed.

hi,
I started on acoustic and added the electric guitar to my skills 1998. i took my classical training and transposed it to the electric. was a big challenge for me i have only just recently the past few years have been able to feel good about the transition.
thanks ,
' donna
I guess Donna was playing before she actually was born!!!
This song has such a refined electric sound, reminding Chet Atkins in pure romantic soul with a country feel, which is remarkable because of the extreme versatility Donna has!
I am offering now DOnna to make her an animated video of this performance. I'm writng you Donna, with a formal request...
Email follows...

It's always tough listening to the talent here in general (yours included), as it makes me self-conscious as a player (read: hack). All this is a compliment to your chops on the fretboard. How long have you been playing?
Awww, ya...just love this kind of (ham-bonein) jam..where as the ride has no destination..and the scenery is SO inspiring, one can't help but emerse themself along with it...a fellow muso has his thumb out...got picked up..and enjoyed the lift.

thanks. i have a 1965 MCcoy that a guy sold me in dallas a few years back he was the original owner and when i pluged it in i was zapped with the voodoo spell. i had never used a wah before then. thanks for the kudos

Donna, love your use of Wah, one of my favorite guitar expression vehicles, I have a Morley attached to my right foot LoL. Beautiful chops. Mikey

Hey Donna! I wish the song title would be my reality!!!!
Just you and me.... Wow !!!!!!!
I could keep writing good things about your excellence, for ever and ever and ever more....
Maybe this is the one I want to make a video for....
Let me listen more, and more...

Just stopping by to check out some R&B. Nothing wrong with your vocal here regarding vibrato style Donna, keep doing what you like no matter what others may tell you. I've backed up some of the best singers out there with a lot worse vibrato than what I'm hearing.

Geez I like this tune. Nice changes. Goor Lord lady you can sing. AND, play a freakin' great guitar. AND, write a song with great changes. This is fundamentally unfair for you to flaunt your talent. Ridiculously cool.

my first attempt at recording. hope you liked it even with its inperfections.

Nice cruisy number! Some tasteful guitar work in there. The recording sounds pretty good, but I reckon you could do with adding more compression to the vocal, it seems to drop into the mix at times, and bring I'd bring the overall vocal level up a notch or two. No need to hide that voice back there with the band! :)

Wow, this is a discovery - quite a UNIQUE sound, feeling guitars and a pleasant, soft mood. Groovy and wonderful bassline support. The hihats are a little noisy and much in front, nevertheless - I like the atmo very very much.

Hey Donna, Love the work...the many tracks of guitar are laid out with taste and content...which in turn makes the resolve of this composition stand out smooth as silk.
nice road your ridin on... :)

Love your style on this composition. I would have loved to have the guitar up just a bit though and the drums backed off a bit so I could really enjoy the guitar playing. I always enjoy listening to some octave work along with some bluesy guitar. Listened to it a couple times!
