Hi Gary-did manage some time away from my exam marking.
This is a very serene tune, lovely vocals especially with the harmony addition, makes it much more full. Nice easy going guitar. An uplifting tune even though the lyrics have some sullen moods. Really down to earth; very folk traditional and most relaxing to hear and reflect on your message.
EXCELLENT. Love it Gary. Glad I made it back. -Vesa.

A very pleasant song with appealing vocals and simple but yet effective instrumentation. Lyrics are well written and I especially like the phrase "I had many songs yet to sing". Great job.

Hi Gary, good song and recording. I like to hear songs that can stand on their own and this one does it with just the guitar and vocals! On the backing vox the reverb sounds so natural.....is it? Sounds like some very close to the chest, personal lyric also. Well done!

Gary nice tune! Vocals definitely work on here. love the harmonies! I agree with Markyone about just vocals and guitar. you have to be good to pull it off and you do it well.

Hey Gary, this really is a nice remix/re-recording of the original ... very smooth sound! Love the way you mixed the vocals in this version. Most excellent. I'll include that in my show after some of the heavy stuff!

I've had the pleasure of reviewing some of your material previously. It's really pleasant to hear consistently good numbers using just vocals and acoustic guitar. This is no exception, great number well done

There is nothing more inspiring for me than simple sweet sounds of the acoustic...I know where to come to and here you have a great tune Gary.
Lovely vocals as always-expressive singing a sad story. This is well written...and says very much about something that is a most sullen situation that should not happen to folks. You say it all so well. This has a good duo guitar arrangement and most wonderful to hear with a fab sound mix. Love the bright tone of the guitar very much.
EXCELLENT tune Gary. It hits home; love it. -Your friend. -Vesa.

A simple but yet heavy song with well crafted lyrics. Excellent performance and delivery. The inclusion of the bridge part paved the way nicely to the last part of the song.

Nice song, liked Dazed I'd never heard of the place till I did a bit of research. There's a village that this happened to in the UK.
I believe there is some folklore written about that as well. lovely performance well done

Beautiful and sad song Gary. I was trying to do a little research on this city while listening. Pretty sad state of affairs indeed.
Wonderfully crafted song Gary and delivered with pride. Thanks for sharing some history that I knew nothing about.

I loved the feel of this song-the road sounds in the beginning hooked me and it took off from there. Good vocals and harmonies-all you???- and the guitar set the pace. Well done-I'll be back to listen to more for sure!!!

Great folk rock sound! Nice harmonies in the chorus and the subtle keys coming in at just the right spots really gives the song some depth and again I like the upfront chorus vox. Well done!

Gary, I'm liking the sound of your acoustic and the vox are done really well. The keys are a nice touch and the harmony is spot on.

Thanx, Markyone! I may redo this with another guitarist friend of mine who will add some lead electric guitar behind me. We practiced it a bit a day or so ago and I really liked how it sounded. We shall see...... ;)

This has a unique sound; fine guitar playing. Good vocal; a bit of high reverb level is about all. Your singing sounds quite good, nice range. Good lyrics; a slight moody feel; good tune. Like it. Good arrangement.
Take care. -Vesa

Very rootsy......you told a wonderful story in this song....made me take a moment and look back at some times in my life....lyrics flowed nicely from beginning to end...I liked the simple ending as well!!

Thanks for the nice words man! Made my day..So, im hear to listen..:) WOW! you have a very warm voice. Guitar sounds clean and played nice. REAL nice job on the lyric and singing. IS a SUPER tune man! The keys are a perfect add for this track. they fill it out and keep it flowing. VERY NICE! another thing that helps the flow is the drums being low in the mix. DO like your voice. Very pretty.

there seems to be a lot of effect on the vocals and music, but the true quality still stands out. i like slow songs a person can hear and understand. this really is a very nice song.

Whatever did happen to Yellow Tonka trucks. Lovely writing Gary. On a personal level I would have preferred the song without the strings. I think the writing and guitar and vocals stand up by themselves. In fact the vocals are exceptionally good. I found the strings a little distracting. But it's a wonderfully written song and...to repeat myself, really well performed. Having said that, I think the other samples work really well. Lovely work.
Cheers

this is a great track...its has tons of energy and the bass and drums really set a solid foundation. I'm into the groove you create and the delivery is outstanding.

Hey Gary, really cool groove! Love the rockin' edge. Great vocals and lyrics! (Too bad, this one isn't for download for me to play on my show!). Great track, man!

Love this! Great groove, love the bass riff/drum interaction. Great guitar-work, too, and the vocals cut through this really rich track quite well. Might wanna seperate some of the layers you have in the mix, but it really jams!
Peace,
Jim

i agree... the song is a fantastic piece... but also agree that there are some recording/mix issues.
love the bassline, but you could put some more 'meat' on it maybe (JMO)... and am getting a lot of noise from somewhere..?
and yeah... notch the vocal down maybe.. just a touch.
great tune tho... very very nice..:)

fantastic intro and some excellent guitar work. Mix could use a few tweaks. Vox are up a bit in the mix (using headphones so take this with a grain of salt) so a lot of the other tracks are kind of buried.
Like the hook on here!
