I'm listening to this song and as it goes on I get the feeling of being out in a club and hearing it live the spotlight segment of the show...this goes thru some dynamic changes with solo's that are packed with feeling.

I was certainly not expecting an epic, I've never heard a 15 minute blues number that wasn't an extended Jam. Nothing to fault this well done

Very expressive blues guitar on this, Guy. Played with true feeling. Nice mix with the organ. Excellent vocals ... and lyrics I can certainly relate to. Keep the good tunes coming. You have a flair I like.

Guy, this is a super tune. These lyrics are so good-- the vocal dynamics raise the bar, too. The chorus is really catchy, and this is an overall great quality of production and performance. Now I see what Reaper meant-- he said you are phenomenal-- and I must agree! This song blows me away, mister! Gina/WHP

I'm going to have to agree with the Springsteen vibe, Guy. I said that right off. Harmonicas like this always remind me of Dylan, tho-- not Bruce. Something about this song also reminded me of, okay I know I'm probably from outer-space here, but Don Maclean (sp?). Anyroad, this song is soooo well done-- every element of it. And I don't even like Springsteen or Maclean-- but you just can't argue with good music, writing and production. Outstanding job. Gina

The intro got me thinking of Spingsteen -- and that's not a bad thing at all. Love the story-telling aspect of this song a lot, and the vocal fits the song and music perfectly. Good production and mix. Tasty. Powerful. Strong. The vocal delivers the message with honesty and grit. Yes, I am enjoying this one a lot, and probably my personal favorites of the songs I've cgecked in on today.

Hey Guy long time man! Man this is outstanding. I know you probably hate the comparisons to Springsteen but when I hear that harmonica and your vocals it is the first thing that comes to my mind. Great company to be in. There are just so many wonderful things going on in here! Musically speaking this is exceptional. You sir are a true talent. A definite favorite of mine and I hope you keep posting some more of these gems. This is one of the best tracks I have heard in some time. Dazed

The Gospel according to Sir Guy! Obama could rock with this one! Heck, Osama might even convert! I've said it from the first song I've ever heard of yours - you don't only deserve to be on a major label; you deserve a major label of your own! Your signature is "All the Best," and that's all we ever get from you! Gotta sign off now ... "they" only allow me to use four exclamation points in a review.

WOW! Guy, this is the best thing I've heard in a long, long, long time... the lyrics, the vocals (yeah, I'm totally dazzled!), the keyboard work, the perfect drum/bass groove, yeah, you have the total package here. And more heart and soul than I thought could pour out of these headphones. If there's any justice in the world, you oughta be a rich man from this song. Peace, Jim

Great tune indeed : nice takes, wonderful mix, powerful mastering. And the voices, wow ! There's just no need for what I suspect to be synth-strings at some moment. Doesn't really matter, 'cause that's a true great post.

Rob, sadly you came into the earlier version of mixposure at a time when Guy was busy elsewhere. This is just the tip of the iceberg of Guy's talent. He is without doubt one of the best songwriters/singers/musos I've had the pleasure of hearing. I'm not sure if he's posted his "Crossroads" track here yet. I hadn't actually heard it until a few months ago one of the nexus DJs played it. If Springsteen/Joel or any other "name" songwriter had written and performed that song it would have resurrected their careers. It's an absolute classic. In fact, tomorrow I'm going to check whether Guy has uploaded it here and if so will do a shout out in the Nigel and Brian thread to let everyone know. Cheers Brian

Have loved this track since I first heard it. As Lex points out, "the sensitive folk master" shows his eclectic skills. Just shows that if you've got all the skills you can cross all sorts of genres. This is classic fun rock with great lyrics, wonderful performances and great production. Great vocal delivery, Guy. Fun, fun, fun. Cheers Brian

Oh, man, it's been way too long, my friend! Guy Michetti, the sensitive folk master, goes electric and shocks fans everywhere! "No Fancy Cars" or folk guitars can make an artist more than he is - and you don't need anything else to make you flat out, hands down, the best around. I've loved this song from the get go, and I'll love it until I see my last checkered flag. It is wonderful to "see" and hear you again!

Guy I am so glad you are posting some music. I missed your songs. Your song writing skills rate in the top 5 for me. You always have a great melody and chorus not to mention that catchy hooks. You doing the solos? Very nice!! Piano is just rocking! Exceptional song!!

Heres Number two ! I like how this track rocks out, its got that live vibe and some classic ivory work. The main melody has a cool hook and that lead is screamin.
User Image
Test48 (17 Mar 2008 07:07 PM)
No reviews for this? I love the big open sound of the keys. Love that organ with the piano. This is a driving little rocker, all right. That's a wailing vocal, as well. The mix might not be quite right, but the song has a raw in-your-face energy to it that overcomes that. And that guitar solo is sick to the max. I like this song a lot.
