Never too late for a quieter acoustic song. Great gentle and strong vocal range...works well with the complimenting guitar. Fine lyrics. It's a nice change to hear some acoustic artistry. Lovely feeling here. Very heartfelt music. Love this piece. Excellent. -Vesa.

Great Henry! Take no prisoners with this lyric, lol. Nice, wide strummed sound and I can really hear the S. Stills influence in this vocal. Well done! Farrell

Henry :) I am suprised I had not reviewed this,I know it so well Must be the radio stations? Well anyways, ths is yet another solid gold Henry classic. No BS,your voice mate is a winner. Has that touch o grit, and bag full of realness that I love. You are without doubt a songwriter, and they becme harder to find as time goes bye... Star is the vocal of course, but IMHO the songwriting is superb. Excellent work Henry. Nigel.

On a one-way ride singing with the wind....very nice vocal delivery and all around performance.....when I go out and play I like all the glitter....but when I'm listening...I'd rather be in a room of singer/songwriters.....good story....I'll have to listen to some more..

Wow...the only thing that was missing was the applause. It had such a wonderful live feel to it that I was really expecting to hear the crowd go wild. There's something about a voice and a guitar.....and when you play guitar this well and have such a compelling voice it's even more special. Wonderful piece of songwriting/storytelling.....performed exquisitely. Congrats.

Exceptional guitar work and vocals. bri-an mentioned one of my favourite story tellers, Steve Earle, and I can hear why.

Worth waiting for Troob-- I knew this would be good. Just love the way you tell a story, play an acoustic, and I'm hooked on your vocal sound. Crosby, Nash and Young? Perhaps, yeah. But I think I'd like to hear Henry Harrington and moi! (I did alot of CSN when I played live). Dynamite. Gina

Great! I love acoustic tunings that are played well and you do it here fantastically! All you need is Crosby, Nash, and Young behind you and you'd have CSN&Y's complete sound. Excellent entry! Farrell

Oh, yeah -- an acoustic to die for. Very well captured tones. Nice clarity. And the vocals fit it so well. I've listened through most of the entries, I think, and I think tghis is the one that really grabbed me the most. They're all good -- but there's something about the starkness of the acoustic and your vocal that does it for me. Well doen!!!! paul

T222 hands down my favorite. something about your style..and delivery. The inner melodies within this simple performance are mezmerizing (IMO) Maybe..because of my love of Steve Earl's style..or just the down to earth basics...that are so appealing...what ever the case..this IS wild good. great listen! great entry!

was hopin you'd return the contest song review favor but with an avante garde genre here you can't stop me form checking this one out too.. hey henry i really dug the song of yours the other night on nexus.. much better than this one i must say.. lol.. I dig the off the wall aspect totally but don't know why it had to sound so chessy.. i dig the part where you play double stops on the box.. if you wanted to grate on thears and get on the nerves this is a masterpiece.. I love your lyrics.. i think this sound will put off the very people who need to relate to it.. lol.. the longer it goes on the more i dig it.. given the dadaesque nihlistic aspects of it.. revolution brother.. I stand behind it.. as a former avante garde chamber music composer.. I salute you.. cheers..

wow Henry....sorry I missed you all this time. Your brand of acoustic and voice here is just dynamite. Wonderfully written, both music and words, this song sticks out as a real statement in several ways. Musically, your great playing and acoustic sound mate so well with the strong and confident vocals. Vocal line well conceived and your voice qualities are really top notch. The statement is confidence. Lyrically, you are a poet...this is just fine stuff. Not only do I agree with your outlook but this is superb and uncontrived wording. The statement is clear and the sentiment unwasted on your listeners. Wonderful and all ways Henry...LOVE IT! Thanks for the DL! ~Blake

Captivating performance. Great power in the message of this song. Passionate performance both vocally and instrumentally gets this powerful message across perfectly. Love the lyrics....beautifully crafted with a real hook in that chorus section. Sensational voice. Great piece of work. Cheers Brian

A most solid and expressive performance! Your songwriting skills shine through in this fine tune in the finger-pointing tradition. It all works here, the crisp guitar, the sharp vocals, and the even sharper lyrics. You've created a keeper, for sure.

Hi Henry Harrington! This a great song man. You have that acoustic sounding so full, crisp, and powerful that all I can say is "it's perfect". In fact the whole song is powerful from the vocal quality, lyric content, to production. It's hard to pull off this kind of sound with just a dude and his guitar but you've done it. Bravo! This takes me back to Stephen Stills' solo days. Farrell

You sound a lot like Harry Chapin. Don't worry, I liked Chapin's voice! I'm enjoying this piece Harry. It displays your passion quite well. Imagine, only in this absurd world of the Independent scene of music would a composer like myself who deals with serialism checks out a composer like yourself whose passion is acoustic guitar and vocals... The absurdity of it all Henry... I truly enjoyed your work Mr. Harrington!

Henry,welcome... It is a pleasure to fin you here in this more adult setting :) Beautiful acoustic piece. Thing is witha song like this where you have guitar and voice, you get nowhere to hide, you have got to get it all on the money. The acoustic has a beautiful tone to,but the star is your vocals and lyrics. If we were live,I would give you a standing ovation,as is,I will simply say excellent and a smiley :) GREATLY enjoyed, and welcome once again mate. Nigel.

Absolutely sensational track. Your acoustic playing always complements your voice perfectly and this is no exception. The use of the electric lead in the background is inspired and really adds to the texture. Love the way this track builds up and there is just a wonderful momentum by the time the bass and percussion and harmonies are all in the picture. Magnificent piece of music, beautifully performed. Added to favs. Cheers and congrats Brian

Straight away I feel in love with the tone of that acoustic... Man that sounds so.....perfect. Then you sing, and the whole package is comlete, really need say no more. But,there are some very nice touches going on with that electric in the mid distance. Then we have the rhythms and that infectious bassline... Choir floating so serenly. I really should be able to walk into any music store and pick up your music. I can say this much, for my ears, this is pure bliss. Do you sell your albums anywhere mate? Genuine enquiry. Wonderful song once again. Nigel.

Much of what was good about the 60s and been nearly lost is distilled in this fine song. Strains of Dylan, Guthrie (both) and CSNY all intertwined in a fine example of meaningful songwriting. AND a banjo!

henry,i heard this on nexus last week and was completely blown away--i absolutely love this stuff--gonna get my vote as one of tops of 2008 nexus best--no doubt--so soulful and the picking is fabulous!! my guitar teacher from many years ago(dana klipp) turned me on to this stuff--you and him would get along great--he was elizabeth cottons sideman for some years before she died!! anyways------- killer stuff!!! mark

Intro reminded me of the "Tusk" vibe then the tune settles into a fine example of "hand made" music. Nice harmonies and a "left field" solo (excuse the pun!)

I like the bass line on this one. very nice. good tune. I did not like the panning on the solo. That probably is because I have headphones on and it is panned hard left. Another great track!

This one is eating at the same table as some of Neil Youngs latest work (a very good thing to me). Your acoustic work is just a pleasure to listen to. The subtle harmonies were well recorded and really make this a professional take. Cannot deney the the lead solo was just what the song ordered.
