Hey Jeff! Welcome to iMS :)
There are some great elements in this piece. Digging the rhythm guitar parts bit it is the distorted guitar that I like. The one thing I am wondering is how you have this panned? Sounds like everything is straight center or close to it.
Enjoyed the tune!

I really enjoyed this song, Jeff. Really well written, nicely performed. Great subdued leads, not crowding the flow of the song. The lyrics are spot on, vocals well delivered. The levels seems a bit low, but that's not a big deal: I just turned up the volume.
Thanks for sharing your music.
Peace,
Jim

After 3 attemps to listen to this one, (kept dropping connection) I decided to d/l it it to review...I even lost the review I`d staerted to write when I clicked on lyrics...Seems we can`t do both, write and read lyrics at the same time...
This is one very pretty, touching piece of music...I loved the guitar which was sounding so melancholly...Your lyrics are disturbingly good and your vocal is clean and clear...This is an excellent song and I`m more than pleased I persevered with it..:-)
peace n love mags :-)

Jeff, this is such a good track. Yeah the volume is a little on the low side but the song is so well done. Excellent lyrics and a melody that fits the mood.
|
 |
Very moving but albeit "dark" piece of music Jeff. THe minimalist accompaniment is just right to heighten the mood of this song. Very sensitive vocal performance again just right for the mood. Loved the line "so many peoples faces, I've tried them on for size" (or words to that effect).
But you're right. It is recorded low and does need a tweak of the volume button to hear it.
Cheers
Brian

I have to say this one is my favorite! Nice guitar intro and the vocals have such a real feeling. Great deep thought song with a good spirited feeling. Holley :)

Beautiful song Jeff. The guitar playing is outstanding and your vocals convey real feeling.
|
 |
As a great friend of acoustic guitars I would like to write to you: I like your music and your vocals very much.
|
 |
Breathtaking music, Jeff. The acoustic and your voice fit so well together, reminds me a bit of Gordon Lightfoot... and that, to me, is a wonderful thing indeed.
Peace,
Jim

Beautiful piece of work Jeff. Had me captivated from the outset and didn't lose my attention for one second. Ezquisite guitar work sets such a delicate foundation for this really lovely song. You sing it with feel and really convey it beautifully to the listener. Marvellous.
Cheers

real nice track Jeff, I got into the simplicity of the Acoustic and your vocal. I like the lyrics and the way it all flowed real smooth.

"A child's eyes" is a very touching song indeed Jeff,
and it's clear that you write from the heart.
I love deeper songs like this which make us think about life,
and it's added to my favs for that reason.
Thanks for sharing,
Carol.

Wonderful work with the guitar with an effective variation on a familiar-sounding chord progression. Solo licks are effective.
Vocally, this is also strong, with its subtle, yet rich, delivery.
A top-notch tune.

That is such a gorgeous guitar...Lovely vocal...what I really like about this is it`s simplicity, just a guitar and vocal...Perfect........Like the lyrics, they`re a bit unsettling...

First to revue this track, This is an excellent combination of acoustic guitar and voice. The overall feel for me is a bit Dylan-ish. Very nice number well done

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to and comment on Remembering Yesterday. I absolutely agree with you about the volume issue. That seems to happen to me frequently when I record on my Boss BR 1180 CD. The volume on the final recording doesn't seem as loud as what I hear theough my headphones or monitors-I am open to suggestion about that. I am slowly trying to learn how to master that machine!!!
Thanks,
Jeff

 |
Sweet song, great lyrics and a nice guitar accompaniment. The one thing is the guitar seems very low, almost inaudible till I turned up the volume on my PC speakers. well done
|
 |
Nice gentle tune and softly wispered words. I could imagine the guitar and overall recording coming up a bit in the mix. Heartfelt music.

I really dig the track the way it's recorded. Yes, the volume could be up some. But, a track with just a guitar and a voice, one being just audible on the left and the other on the right, well, it seems to work for this particular tune. I really LIKE IT! The panning might be a bit extreme for some listeners, but I like the idea you've recorded here. The song is wonderful! Great songwriting, playing and the vocals are outstanding! NICE!!!
Cheers,
Mike

Simple & nice with character. The singing style resembles a bit of James Blunt. Overall, the recording needs a higher volume and enhanced treble. Good work.
|
 |
Hi Jeff,
Although I feel the volume overall could have been higher, I find the song itself (especially the lyrics) to be really moving.
Good one,
Carol.
|
 |
Jeff, I'm listening to this on pretty ordinary computer speakers so my comments on the pan mix may be a bit offskew. At first I had difficulty hearing the vocals and I'm getting the guitar out of right speaker and the main vocals out of left speaker and nothing coming from centre. It's a bit eerie, and I'm not sure whether that's what you intended. But as I say it may just be my lousy speakers.
The song itself is really good. The vocals have a tinge of the Paul Simon about them. I really like the simplicity you've adopted here. It allows the well crafted lyrics to come across without clutter. Classy piece of work. I'll come back to have another listen when I'm at work tomorrow to see if the pan mix works for me on better speakers.
Cheers
Brian

Thank you for listening and for your kind comment about this song. I purposely tried to keep it simple and I'm REALLY glad you liked the pan mix-I was alittle nervous about that. Thanks!!!
|
 |
Wow ! It's just perfect, and so simple. Your pan mix choice is very smart.

Jeff........I let this play a few times, as I read the lyrics along while listening. I found this very deep and touching........and very much I could relate to. The soft emotion in your voice is very moving. Great Song, Jeff!

was kind of hard to hear but this is a nice track. bass line is good and so are the vox and guitar.
|
 |
Cool tune and smart bass line.
|
 |
I don't know why but I could only hear the bass line and vocal and from what I heard it sounds like "Kiss an Angel Goodmorning" by Marilyn Rush and The Turnabouts. Later, KB.
