This is absolutely top-of-the-line, pro, radio-ready material! EVERYTHING works in this tune, the perfect accompaniment, the super vocals, and the production work. Get this one out to those label artists who are in the studio right now!

Lovely song, beautifully written. Love the layers of acoustic guitar, arrangement and fine melody. Looking forward to more. Cheers Richard

This was a trip worth taking. Knowing your past involvement with Tsargoth, this wasn't quite what I was expecting from you Jeff, but it's a stellar piece of writing, performance and production. I love the sparse introduction with the gradual build up of instrumentation. Some who like to work on formulas might say that the intro is a tad too long, but in my view it builds so beautifully that it keeps the interest and adds suspense. Vocals and harmonies and just great. Love the lyric writing and delivery with the hanging "it could have been worse" which really drains the emotion from the listener. Lovely acoustic work throughout. This is a killer introduction to your music, Jeff. Will be back for sure. Cheers Brian

Beautiful piece. Love how this comes together. The subtle piano and great guitar work. Vocals are impressive as hell. Great melody on this song. I must say I am not a country fan but this works and works well. Great hook on the chorus. I was wondering how this would sound with 2 singers and some harmonies. I think it could be chilling. Awesome tune and welcome to Mixposure!

This is absolutely most beautiful country rock, with the right vocal and flow to get more friends for this genre. Personal, honest and warm - I remember my times flying aways with Eagles and Gerry Rafferty, deepest songwriting quality & indeed different artists - you belong to this kind!

Well I will be damned ! It's my old partner in crime Jeff !!! Welcome to Mixposure brother. Really liking the sound of this song Jeff, voice is sounding as good as ever. Very nice country/southern rock vibe to this tune, and remember, after all of the different bands that we've been in together over the last 30 years, I've heard a lot of your original tunes, and this one is a keeper. So get some more of these tunes uploaded here man ! Hope all is well back home there in Carolina, and will have to look you up when we come down later this year. I always travel with guitars and amps, so we will get together and jam a few. And in the meantime, if you need any bass work done on any of your tunes, I would feel privileged to do it. Man, it was good to hear your voice on the phone man. Not too many of us old warriors still out here fighting the good fight ! Peace, Tsargoth

Good to hear you. Like the fine acoustic start...eases me into the other guitar. You vocals are very good; fine tonal range; and expressive. The harmonies add ever so well. Like the lyrics; most meaningful theme. I am enjoying the whole sound you have here in the production. Also the guitar artistry is most inspiring; sounds darn good. Good mix & most fine arranging. Superb tune. Love it. EXPRESSIVE**** -Your friend. -Vesa.

First: Great thanks for giving a good review to Shut Down. So I found your site. I am a great freak of guitars and while I am listening I must say: Your guitar playing is great. The sound quality is first class. And your vocals are so clear and clean. Really good work you have done. I like Down On Me (also the stereo-pan-fields).

Nice Tom Petty vibe to this tune Jeff. That chorus is extremely catchy, and the guitar accents are well done. Seems like we've lived through a lot of these situations over the years. Peace, Tsargoth

This is incredible, I've heard a lot of blues over the years and this is amongst some of the best. Some sizzling guitar work, but for me your vocal delivery made this track. Really glad I found your page, this was well worth the visit. all the best

Hi Jeff... Killer guitar sound on the lead...with endless sustain. Nice vocal work...and the muted metal crunch work at times is just totally unexpected...but you make it work. A most interesting piece! Hugs...Mike (NAV)

Awesome introduction. Get-wrenching, sizzlin lead. Vocals power through right from the start. Excellent performances. It's interesting how the tone/effects/mix of the lead guitar make it sorta feel separate from everything else.

When a song comes with a reapersg endorsement, you expect it to be very good. This song transcends very good, and goes right into radio-ready excellence. I echo the sentiments before me - superb backing instrumentation, fine storytelling, and top-notch vocals. There has to be more than one A&R man looking for just this song. Good luck!

Jeff, this is an outstanding song. You performed it perfectly with a vocal better than most big name country acts. the lyrics are incredibly good, I gotta tell Lex about this one. Awesome work!

Dag, Jeffro......I'm not sure how you got by me.......Man!! You have a "PRO" voice and this song is TOP COUNTRY. The lyrics are nice, but sad, all players are Spot On......Vocals are EXCELLENT......Production and Mix is Excellent.......I was heavily into CM for a few years and this is as good, if not better than a lot, that I really liked. EXCELLENT JOB!! Rob

Love this song. Country isn't something I listen too much to, but when I know a good song when I hear it. No matter what the genre. This is VERY nicely done. Great lyrics and great playing. Superb mix! Cheers, Mike

A nice change from the speedy guitar I last listened to. Most emotive piece; good vocal tone -fine lyrics-like the cello to emphasize the lyrics. Fine guitar sound to compliment. Got to love that subtle steel, not often heard here, in the backup. Sweet song. Great sound;great expression. Most enjoyable. Beautiful! -Your new fan & friend. -Vesa.

This is outstanding work. Beautiful story executed with killer vocals. Harmonies are just perfect. Loving the tasteful steel in the background and the lead licks. Heck I just can't find anything wrong with this song at all. Well done!!!
