Love the darkness, power and mesmerizing heavy rhythm. The spoken vox and guitar fills fit perfectly. And the approach to the blues... well, actually this is not a blues, this is not even a blues on steroids - this is maybe what a blues will sound like in the 23rd century if the stars align right and if the right musicians are born. Great work, gentlemen!

This could be a film track...it's a brooding mooding feel; can see the motorbikes comein after you on the highway...with you having a half hour lead. Take her with you. Cool vocals as always. Wailing guitar makes this a darker haunting appeal, two good guitars...yeah kinda bluesy alright, well told story, fine synth, nifty strings, sweeping sounds... and like the percussion. Unique piece...Mark is great at following any type of genre...this is your own...no need to pin you to anything; just plain Great!!
Your friend. -Vesa. Fine chemistry.

Wonderfully dark and brooding piece of music. You've done a great job with the backing track, Jim. It's tight but still has a sense of looseness about it, if that makes sense. Just the right instrumentation to get the mood across. Love the laid-back but yet theatrical nature of the vocals. Mark's playing some lovely lead lines too that fit in really well with the mood of the track. Excellent balance on the mix and quality production. Great stuff.
Cheers

Yes, there are Pink Floyd influences in the lead guitar but you have your own style and I like it!
The sound is really good and your voice too.
Great song, thanks! :)

now this is a cool piece of music. Jim really digs in here with the instrumentation.. keeping it on the edge of raw but still powerfull and huge!
The spoken word against this ultra cool groove is certainly fitting for this tune. At times Pink FLoyd comes creeping thru. but its still JIM!!
great stuff man.. you know i am a fan!!

Hi Jim and Mark. This has a cool lose nature about it, feels comfortable. Dig the big heavy hits with Mark riffin around them. Great bluesy style vocal Jim, "Workin for the Man" fits so well. Yep, liked the downtempo feel of this, good job guys..

Mark has established himself as a blues guitarist of the first order. Here, he slows it down enough for older ears to catch every note and leaves enough space for your vocals to breathe a whole new dimension into the song. Excellent work by both of you gentlemen!

Jim --- This is the most non-standard blues I have ever heard, and I love it. I love it when someone says, "Oh, I don't like the blues. It all sounds the same." Ha! They need to hear this. No 12-bar anything here. The tempo, delivery, etc., is way outside the box, but it still drips "blues." The lyrics do tell it all with a raw-nerve edge and honesty.
Great collab, on a most unique song. Good job.

Jim and MarkC,
Workin' For The Man (Mark Cloutier On Lead Guitar) is a blues song that gets down to the nitty gritty through your lyrics, voice, instrumental backing and Mark's guitar leads.
I enjoy the way that even for a slower tempo, this rocks...quite a good flavour and feel. Nice to hear another great collaboration of talented musicians bringing out the best in each other.
Cheers,
ZEST

It's been too long since I heard you voice Jim!! This has got a real brooding feel to it that just pulls you along. It's not just the tone of your voice that works so well, it's your timing as well - absolutely spot on. Mark's guitar is Claptonesque in places (reminds me of Clapton on Roger Water's Pros & Cons of Hitchiking)- just the right guitar fills, fitting in in all the right places.
