Just sensational. Good enough to warrant my burning my guitar. Wonderful composition and playing. This is some of the best picking I've heard. Every note comes through crystal clear. Great change of pace at the 2 min mark and then ramping it up again. Just great!!!!!!!
Cheers

Hey there John,I came from the front page where they told me you had some serious talent. So what can I say about this tune, superb picking on the guitar and the sound is real nice too I'm loving all the scratchiness which really shows the live attitude and lets the fact that this is a real recording come through.
Wonderfull playing some of those hung notes tail of beautifully.
I am seriously impressed by this piece.

John, this is some mighty fine fingerpicking, I haven't heard stuff like this since I was young listening to Chet Atkins LP's. Damn this is great stuff. I want more.
|
 |
Now this is some pickin' and your fingers are a flyin'. Love that steady little bass run that holds things together and the way you vary the tempo in the song. Again, another great listen and your skill is very obvious!

John Welcome to iMS I am glad you came over and decided to hang out a bit. I loved your music from the first time I heard it. I love acoustic from the fact that you can't hide behind a ton of effects. This is just some fantastic playing.

Another outstanding piece of work. Superb picking reinforced by some down and dirty slide work. That's torn it. Now I've got to burn that guitar of mine. Love your work John. Sensational stuff
Cheers

Very cool.....kind of has the feel of early Faces or Rod Stewart. After reading the other reviews, I hear the Jimmy Page, as well. I was thinking, Ron Wood. I guess it's the slide guitar........very nice. GREAT TRACK!!!!

Yeah I like this! It does give some impressions of Black Mountain Side from Zep but you give it your own expressions and I enjoyed this listen immensely. You do have the skill!

Dazed-Other people have commented that it sounds like Jimmy Page but I always heard John Fahey Open 'C' tuning influence on the 12 string acoustic and not really Duane Allman slide but I use to play slide on Allman Bros.tunes with a band many years ago. That acoustic is a cheap Washburn but it was mic'd and worked out pretty good.

that acoustic sounds fantastic. this is just cool as hell. love the slide. the odd thing about this song is I hear bits of zeppelin crossed in with some great blues. granted page, clapton etc. were all brought up on blues. this is just a great song and played oh so well!
|
 |
yeah, down home delta blues sounds. Then changes, love the picking and slide. Great stuff!

You sure as heck got my attention......I'm going right down the list and loving each song. This is another very nice track and I like the feel of this very much too. Great harmony vox throughout. It feels like it has a Jefferson Airplane vocal attack to it....very cool. LOVED that guitar tone.......Great job!!!

Yes boys, I am particularly fond of this tune. And check out the picture-- that guy really resembles William (TNW).
Nice one John. A little different than the others. Love the bass line on this, and the guitar tone. Lyrics-- very cool, and the delivery is very catchy. Just all around cool, John.

Hey John! Another fantastic display of how terrible a guitarist I am hehe. Brilliant playing my friend. I would love to be able to finger pick like that. You are in a class by yourself. Beautiful!

 |
THIS COOKS!!! This is the kind of playing that smokes at a party, of course, I wouldn't know personally, because I can't play that well, but I sure have watched in awe. GREAT PICKIN', JOHN!!
