Aaah, very nice - very cinematic. This may very well be part of a movie soundtrack.
This song has some sort of Arabic/Oriental influence which makes it so interesting. Wonderful monotone, creeping drum pattern; guitar work is perfection, KED. All those different tones, those licks ... phenomenal.
Gabriel, your choice of synth don't only complement KED's guitars, but they emphasize those intriguing chord sequences you've created here.
All in all, a pleasure to listen to; a song which captures you and takes you to a different place.
Well done gentlemen!
Heinz.

Hey Gabriel/KED, well this dance starts out very serenely but as we find out the giants do dance. Rhythm very mechanized with KED's leads dancing on top. Actually pretty heavy stuff without actually sounding heavy...nice trick! Fine job with this collab guys ~Blake

Must be fun naming these tracks.. they are skilled and very full and powerful. Synth and guitar fill this one well... sound floods the ears!

Ked's cruisin at 90 then kicks in some warp speed. Gabe's lush musical
background is perfect. Excellent track fella's!

Well I'm not sure who's playing what!!! but together you have an awesome sound....lots of depth and texture....very nice!!

So I was walking outside in a lovely snowstorm, no wind, and the flakes were falling so softly on city streets. I turned and found myself entering a dance club, misty with dry ice and sweat, red lights pulsating with the heavy beat. I want to see the snow fall again, but I am held bound by the music.
Do you see where you have taken me?

Now there isa coincidence,I have a song called listen I have been thinking about redoing...
But I am lethergic these days LOL
Beaut of an opening Ked....
Leading nicely into a very rich, lush soundscape where the guitar can soar into the blue.
Orchestral and grand.
VERY nice tone on the guitars, gritty but not over distorted, and I am envious of the sustain mate.
My set up doesn't give me sustain.
Excellent lead work,effortless.
All in the flow.
No one can define the flow, but most can feel it.
Yep,a beautiful piece Ked,very regal and powerful.
Nigel.

All the colors seem SO right for this song. We've got Gabriel's acutely great sense of rhythmic content here, being accented by KED's wonderful axe work. We've got some vocal that add to the warmth of the first part and some very beautiful and open synth work that interplays with the heady lead guitar line. This really is an awesome sonic masterpiece that entices imagination and wonderful fantasy. I think this is fantastic. Bravo to Gabriel and KED. The variation, thought and execution present here add up to one dynamite masterpiece. WONDERFUL stuff!!! ~Blake

Wow...again!
The second movement reminds me of Peter Gabriel's work on "Passion" - excellent.
Once again, the intensity and passion come forward. Excellent guitar work.
The synth work is beautiful...what a soundscape.
The third movement is so sublime...magnificent.
Excellent production.
KED and Gabe - congrats to both of you on this work of art!
Awesome...

Darn, I hit return by accident. There's much more to this track than appears in my review, but rather than talk about it, suggest you just go and have a listen for yourself.

Just had myself an epiphany. I started to listen to this track after hearing "Journey....". This track opened in itunes while Journey repeated itself in winamp. The whole office was throbbing. Another wonderful percussive vibe to this track.Love the cymbal work at about the 0:20 mark and then some wonderful guitar work. Those chords sure have some power about them. Great synth work too....nice twist into the dark and moody synth section before the drums started bubbling up again. There's a real middle eastern feel to the next section. Both the rhythm guitars and lead lines are perfect and the vocals fit the mood beautifully. This is really exotic stuff. Love the composition, the playing and the production. Really top drawer material.
Cheers

What a neat & percussive start; whoaa, Like this cosmic to earthy atmospheric journey. Great sound; fine synth artistry. Great guitar; all at a perfect sound level that makes it one...mood change, the vehicle has stopped somewhere in Algeria;desert winds sweep across my channels... love percussion...really fab mix. Good touch of efx. & before I forget that synth choir is fab, fine strings & cello..a puase in the motion...a long mystical journey...lots of good arranging. Fine changes; really well thought through. KED, your focused playing is fab with much feeling for every note...sustains and all, such nifty paths of guitar phrases with meaning,in this long vast expanse.
Great chemistry Gabriel & Ked. --EXCELLENT.****

Very big sound here with a huge driving rhythm that pull you in and caries you along on a musical adventure. Really nice production.

love the drums right from the start...intense and drivin. Ked's teasin a little leading up to a nice sustaining melody. 2:00 it changes..classic Gabe...love those synth pads....oooh theres that guitar again...sweet. Man I love the tone and sustain you're getting. 4:22 another cool change .like the slow laidback section here, guitarwork is stellar - keys are so smooth.
beautiful swells sround 6:30...What a superb arrangement! percussion comes in and creates still another passage...epic greatness guys!

Very sensitive playing KED. Love when guitarists have enough confidence to do this like you do. A perfect title and some great expressive playing that works so well in achieving the goal of this tune. Quite introspective and relaxing. Wonderful!! ~Blake
|
 |
Great anthem style opening KED, love the tone on those high notes. Awakening is a perfect theme for this, melodic yet powerful. Sound is really coming across my monitors here. I was a little sleepy so I had to listen again, guitar playing in all forms hypnotizes me, this did not disappoint.- Ed
|
 |
Indeed, an awakening, of sorts. But a very mellow, progressive, gentle-- almost Zen type of awakening-- like the zen alarm clock I have, which starts out with very, very low, almost inaudible sound and gets progressively louder, to gently bring about consciousness coming from the dream world. It's a beautiful piece of work, musicianship, albeit VERY different from the Bracejams that rock my world.
You certainly are a versatile musician. Love yeh both!
Gina

That was an intense opening....I liked it when it melted down only to have the bass open it back up to take us on a sonic excursion...vey nice instrumentation and production....yall rock!!
|
 |
Nice tone on the opening guitar, very playful...
Smooth build from there on in....
Once again, very regal and powerful build.
Nice drop down to bass and howling guitar, liked that :)
Thnderous :)
Went into the percussion lead segment perfectly.
As the song progressed, the guitar just kept getting better and better.
Awesome fade out at the end as well!

Wide open and expansive sound with very cool rythmic identities first accentuated by the acoustic, then later by the percussion. Finely executed keyboards, guitars and drums. Great style here lays out a great canvas for mental excursion. Gabriel and KED....I really love this. It's just the right size, well arranged and very interesting. The song flows. Great playing throughout!!! ~Blake
|
 |
Wow...each movement builds on the previous...
This is intense.
Excellent performances. Arranged with brilliance.
Superb guitar work.
Masterful...

Some of the titles appearing on the front page had a familiar ring to them, but the penny has now dropped. This is an amazing piece of work. Gabe's got a furious percussion groove going on in this with some sensational synth work as well. KED's playing is as tasteful as it is marvellous. Gorgeous tones and lines. It's disconcerting at time because I get the feeling the track's finished and I'm disappointed. But then it starts back up again. This is "heady stuff" guys. Wonderful. Congrats.
Cheers
Brian
