A Mother's Prayer

Music : Mike Lynn / Lyrics :  Adopted & modified from an anonymous poem found on the internet by accident.

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day

With little time to stop and pray

For life's been anything but calm since you called her to be a mom

Running errands and matching socks

Building dreams and matching blocks

Cooking, cleaning & finding shoes and things that young ones lose

Fitting lids on bottled bugs

Wiping tears and giving hugs

Stack of last week's mail to read

Where's the quiet time she needs ?

Yet as she goes to bed each night

Her heart is filled with true love's light

As she takes one last peek she sees,

The treasure God's given her

"Should look forward to what life holds and not what has been

I'll share pleasant times, bear your pain,

If you fall, I'd be there to pick you up again...."

She has waiting for the day when someone would come and stay

New life is blooming evermore with sweetness never known before

So as she goes to bed each night

Her heart is filled with true love's light

God's own sweet blessing sleeping there

The answer to a mother's prayer
