wow - what a great intro. love the heavy keys with the drums like that. guitar solos have such a great sustain. nice tone indeed. not sure where this songs fit from a genre perspective but it is kind of fun!

Very dark and well done! This is an awesome ambience you have created with a powerfull yet understated drive. I think the minimal guitar and vocal work really well over your monster percussion. This is BIG!!!

This is different and as such has a unique blend of ideas and tastes. The mood is seriously dark. I liked the middle eastern and Indian music touches. Not an easy piece to review. But certainly an interesting piece to listen to. Congratulations on creating something, the like of which I've never heard before. well done
Imaginative opening and erie grande vibes suggest the entrance of some very dark and momentus forces... Ancient Egytian or Middle Eastern scenes arise... hold on and listen!
Mike, a strange but very cool song, I get a raw prehistoric vibe with the the drum beat, like something from a sci-fi flick. Nice floating ambiences and guitar licks. Good production. Mike Y

Mike...
i think is a particularly good composition anyway, but i like how you have dealt with additional vocal.
the overall feel is very moody and sinister.. and i think the simple guitar line really adds to this.
nice.. thanks for posting... i will get it to Dave for a listen... i think he will like it too.

like the pads intro mike.. drums have a tite compressed sound.. man that guitar is drenched in chorus.. does that create a special sound or what?
like the break into the the lead melody.. yeah mike.. lemme jam some soul bass on this for you amigo.. hermano.. lol.. diggin your ambience mike.. you got mucho duende hombre.. salute.. cheers.. :-)

Nice, pleasant track, enjoyed listening. Not one of those "in your face" kind of things, but nice to put on and let it sound around you. The guitar is very pleasant, the synth work simple but effective. The only downside is it's a bit repetitious, but the niceness of it does overcome that.

Another very interesting composition Mike...
The lush gentle opening and on into the chroused guiitar...
Yes,Brian had an interesting point there with a deep bass line...
The guitars are supercool though, that lead line you haev running through there, made me think of rainbow Bridge by Jimi.
Summertime music....
Warm breeze,no place to rush to,nothing to do but enjoy the day, perfect soundtrack for such a day.
Beautiful piece mate.
Enjoyed greatly :)
Nigel.

Great combination of sounds, that string is wonderful and the way it pads the chorused guitar chording is a pleasure to listen to. Theres a real emotion swirling around this soundscape, definate ear candy. The kind of thing that melts tension this....enjoyed...
Nice feel, catchy and good structure, I think it would be a good background for something up front, be it voice or solo instrument. What solo was there melded well in the Harmony if that was your intent.
I like it a lot and it has me thinking of things.
Another instrument like an English Horn or oboe with a clear melodic voice would have done it for me as I dont find singing very interesting too often.
Much potential for development & Good sound quality too.
Cool, cool drum adding heartbeats....Very pleasurable music...Very intersting and.....d/lable.....Got it...:-)
Happy Easter
Peace n love Mags xx :-)

Thanks for that! Yes like all my songs I keep coming back to them. Bass is not one of my strong points though I will definitely throw some in at a later date. Thanks for the help!!
Interesting listen..like the gradual build-up...Enjoyed!(hope you decide to throw some big bass sub in here...lots of room for it)

Excellent laid back groove you have hear. Spacial synth with that delicious sounding guitar on top, really nice track!
Like the intro, guitar sounds good, and the instrumental works very well, I think you did an exceptional job here and your effects feet really well. Love it! The RatMan!
nice track, very smooth and flows well...downloaded for my Nexus Radio Show...love the synths!
Nothing strange about this at all. Just pure, easy, smooth blues. I enjoyed this blues ride a lot. Excellent, soulful playing.
This is a very sweet piece of music, simple yet effective, really enjoyed this one well done
Laid back ....excellence,smooth with a mello groove and vibe.Nice synth sounds backing the cool guitar work....Very well done !!!
Larry T.....
really nice vibe to this track...Lovin the sounds and the wide mix. bri-an said soothing and thats a perfect observation of
this wonderful music.
Very nice comfort zone here...smooth soothing keys carry the guitar playing nicely through this soundscape.
I like the sparse use of the drums in this track,..the combination of a rim shot and a snare hit was the ticket...It's just nice to hear the dynamics of something So simple come across SO well. Nice Job! Enjoyed this.

I love it! A very heavy industrial feel, and I personally like an intro that takes time to develop. I don't like to adhere to forumulae of any kind and applaud anyone who is daring enough to experiment. Without the willingness to think outside of the box, we would become stagnant. Dare to be different!

If 13 seconds was the appropriate limit for an intro none of us would have heard Pink Floyd's "Time". I think this is a really interesting piece of work. Very industrial feel to the percussion (what the hell is that bashing sound). The synth work adds another dimension and the guitar playing yet another. I love the tone in the guitar. It heightens the suspense. And I particularly like the way the guitar comes in intermittently.....you never know when it's going to strike. Agree with Nigel, it's got real soundtrack potential. Liked it.
Cheers

I never knew the "Ideal intro" was 13 seconds long....
Perhaps that is for pop music?
This isn't pop :)
This is film score, possibly game music.
It is alos possibly new age/world,the likes of which Phil Thornton does (One of my fav artists)
This reminds me of his Alien Encounter album.
Very dramatic,very head cinema.
A cracking piece of music IMHO.
Adding to favs :)
Nigel.

I have to be honest Mike- Its an excellent intro. I kept waiting for some thematic development and some metamorphosis. Remember the ideal intro is 13 seconds. Its a great sound though. I like the concept a lot!

Definitely dark and forboding. Well done Mike. This song would go superbly as a soundtrack into quite a few movies. Excellent production. ~Blake

wow.. like those door slams bro.. sounds like an action movie.. pumpin adrenalin.. waiting for the battle to begin.. whoa.. awesome sinister mood coming in.. el matador.. el guitar.. takes the floor.. his lament for el toro.. singing strong.. a progressive powerful song exactly to my tastes.. this is tense and menacing.. just my thing.. like the one ring..
an all consuming musical thing.. heavy desire.. returned to the fire..
great stuff mike.. pequeno hermano..
thanks for the feedback guys, I know it's a little strange. It started off a bit strange and I thought what the hell let's not hold back
wow. I like the slow build. It does sound a little like something I would
do. perhaps you need medical attention? lol. eerie and sparse. I like it.
cool percussion and guitar.
This is quite interesting...it builds slow and easy...those drum hits are hypnotic...guitar is sparse and very effective.
This almost sounds like a Z tune. Cool stuff Mike
This is a strange little song, but you know what? I like this. Don't know why, but I hear so many things in it -- the way this was constructed and crafted really paints a mood and builds tension. Those drum things just pulled me along to the point I couldn't leave the song. Nicely done.

Not sure if this is a remix, but it sounds GREAT to me. Lots of punch and the guitars sound well spaced. Very cool "CLASSIC" sound and well arranged rock track. Great classic rock guitar tones :-) a bit of AC/DC - Stones tone and "I like it, like it, Yes I do!"
Rob
Cool guitars from the start. This tune has a cool foot-tapping feel to it. Nice job.
Good feedback, thanks everyone for listening. Mabye a standout guitar solo for 20 seconds or so would be a good idea. I might try some day, but I think I need to improve my playing first!!

Hi Mike!
Last night I didn't feel I had time for a decent review of this song, but here goes.
This is quality rock, much like the best I've heard on IMusicScene, Mixposure or anywhere.
This is hard hitting rock and I'm sure it would tear up any dance floor in any Hard Rock cafe anywhere.
People are mentioning ZZ Top amongst others and I hear AC/DC in this too.
The only thing that would be missing, if anything....a ballsy G-solo!?
Now I know theres som lead-thing going on all through the track, but...
I think it would sound better with the lead being more anonymous exept for a solo part
where the volume is cranked up to a point where there is no doubt about what is what.
Peace
Papi

you are up there with some pretty big boys. Bad company, a little ZZ Top and the guitar work like that Clapton guy : ) boogie on.
MIke.............Solid rockin' tune, my friend.Great guitar work !! The drums and bass tracks kick butt, nicely mixed.Outstanding songwriting and musicianship....! I'd keep experimenting with the mix....that's the fun part.Maybe doubling the rhythm guitar track(s) panning each one left and right, cross fading at certain points...perhaps moving the lead more towards the center and panning it left and right at times....just some thoughts....this is an excellent song......KUDOS !!
peace,
Larry T

Good solid rock song.
Yes,given some attention this could really shake the walls.
But even as is,it is obvious it IS a good song.
The playing is on the money, the actual writing of the piece clearly shows a man who has served his apprentaship behind the guitar for a good number of years.
Great rocking song, don't sweat the details, just keep working towards the best you can do mate :)
Greatly enjoyed.
Nigel.

Hey - this is cool. Excellent classic rock. You've got the rhythm going and everything is solid.
Lots of fun!

hi mike.. saw that you are new here.. cool beat.. cool riffs.. I've returned to hard rock and metal too so i'm diggin your song.. nice bouncy classical rock bassline.. sounds just fine.. bien venudos hermano.. cheers..
oh YEAH..right from the start I heard the difference..now this baby is drivin hard and powerful. That bass is thumpin and the drums are tight and punchy. love the crunchy rhythm.
Mike, this is excellent...I can hear vocals in this.
I've remixed this now with more emphasis on drums and bass I think.
Hey Mike....I agree with everything Dazed and Reaper have said. There's far too much presence on the rhythm guitar. It's drowning out the lead and the bass and drums are just lurking in the background. Solid sounding piece of rock which will sound much better in a remix. Look forward to hearing a remix.
Cheers
Brian

Guys, thanks for the comments. I will have another listen to it and definitely tweak the backing instruments. That was really helpful.

Reaper hit it on the head. The mix is killing this tune. Obviously you are a guitarist because we all tend to crank the guitars and ignore the other instruments hehe.
Play with the mix a bit and I think you will be surprised at the results.
I'm hearing a solid tune here. Bring up the drums and bass, you need that to drive those rockin guitars. Maybe do some more separation in the mix on the guitar tracks. This song is powerful

nice feel,works with the vocals.
I wouldn't have called this ambient. Not unlike the rebirth of cool stuff with a straight rock beat....which isn't a criticism, this is a good laid back song with lots of interest along the way, like the vocoder effect.
Cool.
Surprising voice sound- love it. Guitar sounds very relaxed -cool track !!Congrats from Hooker Green
