I'm wondering how I missed this great song... Duh! Well, better late than never. Rob, I love those strings, and how you work the bass into the melody. The guitars are perfect. Just enough. You may be one of the few people who actually understand progressive rock, and I sure as Hell don't. But I know what I like. This is a wonderful ballad. Be really nice if some soulful singer put some vocals on it... But it's perfect the way it is. Peace, Jim

This is a great song, Rob. The Synths are complementing the song very well. I love Your guitar play. I enjoyed every note of it. The bass line is cool and grabs my very soul. Great production and mastering job. I m glad You shared this with Us. Emphyrio :)

Very nice indeed Rob. The string arangement works VERY well, helps the ebb and flow no end. In ruth,I think they are defining the piece... Very nice acoustic sound as well. Bass, always on the money, very warm tone. Lead...oh yeah, very very nice tone on that Rob. All in all... Well tis beautiful... Would work equaly well with vocals IMHO. Excellent work mate. Nigel.

Oh Rob-O, this one really stole my heart! To say I love this song, is to understate my passions to the ridiculous. Man, this is just so sweet and rich. I'm so impressed and delighted to see such a fine musical statement arise from your heart and flow through the air into my day dreams. One of my faves, to say the least! SFAM / NG

Hi Rob...well I am happy you sent me to this page of yours. What a lovely song this is...I am floating along with it nicely....love the strind...very sweet...:) And the bass is almost like waves on the ocean...when you bring in the guitar aaah.. Oh boy, I defintely like this piece, a very acoustical track. I like the flow it brings and of course the accomphisment of the guitars. The sky pad is one thing I always adore, with much in mind I will use it one day but my primitive system doesn't allow me to do so till now. What a let down. Life will be so beautiful if everyday we can just listen to this kind of music and let all things stop forever. Thanks for sharing. With million of love from Singapore. Piperon

Hmmmmm, where have I heard this one before? The M-Tron, amazing lil plug. Many bands use this wonder in their live performances now. at least the damn thing stays in tune for the entire performance....lol. Have fun with it my friend. Lots of neat sounds to be found round every corner. A lil tip though, the M-Tron performs exactly the same as the real thing so you won't be able to use the lower or higher registry of your keys. This isn't a bug, it's the way it was designed. Anyways, love your new version. I'm looking for a thumbs up icon but can't find any.....lol!!!

Robbie!! Wonderful soundscape....and the recording quality is great. Oh yeah, the mtron. Great samples. But I didn't hear no 'Genesis Split'!! Try that patch, decrease the attack and increase the release. Add a little verb...and voila..instant orgasm. Great effort here. I always love your bass lines, the acoustic & electric gtrs work so well together. ~Blake

What a great mood you've created in this track. Lovely melodies evoke some powerful emotions here. Good mix, very clear and I love the bass part! And this is such a great arrangement I love how you build this through each section. Sweet sound on that lead and the panning is a nice touch!

a slice of mellowness from you here, Rob - you come up with very "smooth" bass lines - very nice. Could maybe be louder here (just personal preference)? you should never hide you bass playing! Nice drum track also - subtle, classy fills. This could be a very good soundtrack for something. Hmm...how long is this tune anyway!?! just kidding - you know me.

Rob, very nice piece...it is very relaxing. You've got some cool themes going on. Love the changes and when your lead guitar kicks in before the 3m mark. Of course your bass line/playing is superb. Excellent and patient buildup last third of song. Well thought out and enjoyable tune Robbie!! ~Blake

I'm just listening to "DEVICES ARE HELPFUL" and wonder which would be the correct genre for that tune. In theory there must be a new genre called collaborative-rock-funk-punk for that. :) Interesting mix of a laid back beat, interrupted by machine gun breaks and wah-wah guitars. That was a entertaining journey! Bt... thank you a lot for your comments also for our "Mabuse Project".

I'm lovin' this collab. The two of you really gel on this track. Mark's soaring guitar is stunning against your endlessly inventive bass work. The drum arrangement adds a whole other set of powerful dynamics. Great stuff!

At the age of 56 and you are able to swing so melodiously, I salute to you Rob! This pounding of the guitar is soaring and interesting, wish I can learn how to do that. I love the bassline which I am weak at and still learning to catch an egde out of the blue moon. You ROCK, my friend, seriously I would have a crappy mind at this age due to my bad health. Stay on the line and be healthy, joyful and active at all time. The world is watching over you and your fabulous softrock music. But don't let those pretty babes ruin your assets. LOL! well with 39 songs here now rob i guess i haven't reviewed them all but i mean too cause you are one of my fave composer/bandleader/bassists on the scene.. i love the melodic bass on this one.. great that you let it take the lead a couple of times.. like the synth sounds and work this time around and the chunky rhythm guitar sits just right in the rhythm.. love those tempo changes and breaks.. did anyone say it reminded them of YES? genesis I agree on too.. nice high lead now on the guitar in the developement section and a sweet "walking" bass.. those ascending phrase to the breaks are fantastically cool.. send me back to school.. wow.. gimme more.. and you do.. that last major section is a great coda.. this is a big piece rob.. a real musical architect you are.. thanks for the inspiration :-)

Hi Rob, long time no listen, hope your well my friend. This just cuts right in and starts moving, nice synth blending with the chord stabs. Thats a great jump to the lead, your really cranking some smashing lead lines in here. Dig the way you change your guitar sounds to keep the interest peaking. Bass is sounding good, those high notes you play on bass really set up the lower ones. You da progressive man!!..and always smooth. Ed

Hints of Genisis just explode out from this progressive ditty Rob..(which is a great thing!) Love the upward-acending breaks within the structure, really allows you to go in any direction you choose...(which is a very proper thing!) lol...The title of this musical session is perfect as to what you went through previously...(which was a very scary thing!) it's just great to hear you back in your element. This is definitely one hell piece of collaboration work. With Rick in the vocal and you staging the melody mix line, I see no reason why you guys shouldn't be doing another. Being young is definitely an asset - oops, this is hit to you, Rick. But older are wiser in this competitive world. Sorry, Rick - first I send you to the heaven and then to the ground. Mates, you should be proud of your work, this is something I can't do - I mean the rock stuff and the online collaboration. With million of love from Singapore. Sunset... perfect time of day. Gorgeous soundscape you have here. That's my Ricky in there, too. Damn-- he does his best work when I'm not paying attention. Fabulous vocal performance, and Rob, you are magic with all of this shallow middle music. I remember sitting at the Sat Night rocks show and being in absolute awe, along with all the others. I think Ricky missed his calling in the prog category. This is a very exciting production. Love what you both did here. God-- that's MY Ricky-- playing his guitar, too. I'm really proud of this for you two! Love, Gina

The bass part is delightfull...inventive and expressive ! Old school is best hey.....I mean a walking bassline...unique nowadays ! A fellow Latimer Lover !

Great orchestrals on the intro; loving that ORGAN work, as well as the soaring guitars. Superbly "fresh" sounding, takes me back to the mid-'60's & fond mem'ries... this gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from my ears, to be sure!

Good one guys; fine vocals; love the addition of the organ. A sweeping effect is added by the guitar and keys, wonderful sound. Fine guitar artistry weaves around, nice tempo change. A soaring song that moves along with a cool motion; fine fast bass runs. Seering guitar just keeps climbing. Excellent arrangement. Great sound mix. SUPERB. -Vesa.

Great musicianship. A beautifully written, complex tune with some fine soloing, and georgeous melody. The vocals were perfect. Cheers Richard John
