This was was first attempt at using my new mini studio.. the drums are samples and I'm still trying to figure out how to get a better bass tone out of the "bass amp simulator" which is inside the studio in box.. Plus, since I am not all that comfortable with my bass playing prowless, I probably buried it in the mix on purpose..
Appreciate the comments as trying to get down a solid mix is a work in progress.

ADDED; I´M NOT SURE THE LEADS ARE TOO LOUD, I THINK IT THERE WAS SOME BASS IN THIS, AND THE EQ WAS A BIT DIFFERENT FOR ALL THE INSTRUMENTS, IT WOULDN´T BE SO PIERCING SOUNDING, GIVING THE IMPRESSION OF TOO LOUD.
IMAGINE TELLING HENDRIX HE WAS TOO LOUD ON HIS RECORDS!!!!! LOL
THIS REMINDS ME MORE OF HENDRIX AND A MIX OF MANY OTHERS, NOT SO MUCH OF VAI.

HEY, THIS IS A PRETTY COOL TRACK. VERY NICE GUITAR PLAYING, BOTH LEAD AND RHYTHM.
THE DRUMS ARE AT AN OK VOLUME, THEY JUST NEED TO BE EQ´D BETTER, BECAUSE ALL THE NICE DOUBLE BASS DRUM STUFF IS KIND OF MUDDLED AND LOST. IT COULD BE MUCH CLEARER. AND WHERE´S THE BASS? AT FIRST LISTEN TO THIS, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST GUITARS AND DRUMS, WITH NO BASS AT ALL!!!! :) LOL NOW ON SECOND LISTEN; I CAN HEAR SOME KIND OF BASS IN THE DISTANCE SOMEWHERE, BUT IT REALLY NEED TO COME UP.
BUT FOR A GUITARIST, YOU DID A PRETTY GOOD MIX ON THIS, BECAUSE MOST GUITARIST TEND TO BURY THE WHOLE BAND WITH GUITARS!!!!!! :) LOL
NICE TRACK, JUST NEEDS SOME TWEAKING.
GREAT PLAYING. :)

Love the songwriting here here, really cool rythym patterns there. I'd drop the lead a couple dB's and throw some delay on it maybe.
But I enjoyed the mix as is also. Gives me a Mustaine / Coroner vibe, I like it.

Thanks for the comments..
After years of having the drummer the loudest thing in the mix, and always concentrating way too hard to hear the guitar in every CD I own, I thought that now that I am in control, everything I record is going to be guitar at 10 and everything else at 5 ;)
God bless the person that developed "the drummer in a box" !!

Guitar solo is way too loud. Also, it needs more lead work. For example, the bit in the middle that repeats the song intro is crying out for a nice solo in a minor key. I can hear Phrygian or similar scale to give it some added 'mood.'
Apart from the guitar solo being too loud it's a great recording. The lead 'style ' sounds heavily influenced by Steve Vai and that can't be a bad thing. Coolio!

yeah I am digging the track. I agree that the levels in the mix are not optimal but that does not take away from the fact that this is a solid rocker. a track like this, for me anyway, you really need to feel the drums out in front more. as a guitarist you would think I would say guitar hehe.

Good track, but I think the lead guitar is too loud in the mix.Everything else sounds ok level-wise,but when the guitar kicks in it sounds like everything else gets turned down,
sounds unnatural.
Peace,
