Great instrumental track with superb guitar playing, reminds of Santanna a bit. Nice guitar tones executed with good melodic ideas. Great sounding recording too. Would love to jam with you. Sonic Friend, Chris Bayne

Gorgeous guitar playing Rick....Have to say that this comes with added shivers. Not too many can achieve that feeling but you see to be able to do it effortlessly, making it all sound so very easy, of course I know it`s not... Would love to hear another collab from you with Gina, who has a power house of a voice... :-) Peace n love mags :-)

Very clean and distinctive playing Rick. And yes I do love the tones you've laid down. The sense of flow and phrasing in your leads is just great as are the bass and percussion. Super nice job and very enjoyable. ~Blake

Beautiful and emotionally moving instrumental. Not sure if you're playing the SG or if it plays YOU, but I know the two of you have been together inspired since the mid 70's. I will never tire of the lovely melodies you make, and I hope you never stop making them. I like Nigel's take on all of it-- he has a special way of putting things, and he's right on the money. It's a big one for me, and I love it. Glad you decided to post it, after all.

Very wonderful unique styled guitar playing, most expressive, lot of feeling in every note. Like the other guitar accompanying and the keys are most fine. Good focused percussion and a great bass. Good tone-great sound mix. Most enjoyable arrangment. Superb production. It's essentially your one pointed mindset guitar fingering that emphasizes the whwole compositional direction of an emotive realm. Superb my friend. See you. -Vesa. (Thanks for your inspiration/reviews)

"Experiment in tone" Well it certainly adds up to a whole lot more than that Rick:) As Brian noted, smoe of those bends are sublime. The shiftingt tones of the SG are definaately the star, but that is not to overlook a very nice soudscape created for them to do their business on. Feels like another very on the momment lead session. Allowing each tone to express itself fully, and we both know that the guiar has a way of telling our emotions to the world. If I had to **** phrase it would be: "Oh damn it,why?" Can't explain that in english,it's just an nudercurrent,or a surrounding aura to the song. Beautifuly played Rick. Nigel.

Beautifully melodic and stirring instrumental Rick. You are ringing some gorgeous tones out of this one. Lovely phrasing and some really gut-ripping bends. The whole track is beautifully packaged with some lovely synth and piano work behind the scenes and excellent bass and drums. Really great track.

Rick the acoustic/clean electric is beautiful. So rich and warm. The lead is very much in contrast to the acoustic, biting, soaring. Nice gentle synth arangement as well. fx touches on the slide :) Just for pure tone alone,I would say the star for me was the clean electric/acoustic,that has sucha beautiful tone. Greatly enjoyed. Nigel.

Hello Rick, was good to see you last night ... :-) Now, 'wanderin' through' is such an ecclectic, atmospheric piece - it's wonderful to sit back and take it in; a piece which allows to relax and re-charge your energies. Just what I needed! Thanks man :-) Heinz.

Rick, this is so freakin' pretty... no other word comes to mind. The melody really is memorable, and I love where you take it. Plenty of dramatic action on the leads, and that wonderful clean bit supported so capably by the keys... You are one of the best damn guitar players I've ever heard. Peace, Jim

hey RwK.. thanks for the reivews man.. didn't recognize your reviewing name here but i know it from mixpo.. looked through all 5 pages to find this one which i started playing on your front page.. it is absolutely gorgeous.. ambient rock music with bluesy pink floyd touch.. like my buddy jimbo said.. you are a master guitarist bro.. it's gonna take awhile to hear all your songs but this one sparks the interest.. think you know we are all spread thin around the net now.. looking for a place to call home now that mixpo is gone.. but this place feels and looks great.. got nice reviews from you and your music is on the level that I look for.. so I think this will be home.. top musicians showing each other encouragement and support.. not trying to top virtual charts.. just turning out great pieces/songs and diggin each others work.. next review will be shorter.. i promise.. cheers.. .-)

Beautifuly done, the dual leads were excellent. Crystal clear production and a really good "Band" sound... Makes me want to get back to doing instrumentals again... Guitar is simply beautiful mate. Love the guitar playing, such a neat repeating riff at the start. Can envision a colourful atmosphere with all the fine chosen elements, -the piano is a welcome sound; cool percussive sounds, some quite subtle tinkling;spacey sounds... Gabriel -great vocal tone to this arrangement and you flow well through the lyrical journey - well composed, amazing full sound that is very enjoyable. EXCELLENT production and sound mix. Well done; good chemistry. FAB tune indeed. Thanks for the pleasure guys. -Vesa

Great Find! Rick, after hanging out with you at SNR last night, I thought I HAD to stop by and check out your music. Well, what can I say. Wonderful guitar tones throughout the song, great riffs and licks. And since I've just listened to some of Gabriel's stuff I was curious to hear this collab. Great, esotheric vocals meet fascinating musical sounds. Love the landscape of the whole song, great mix. I'll be back! :-) Heinz.

I've heard this track a number of times on Mike K's SNR show but just realised I hadn't got around to reviewing it. Sensational mix of talents. Lovely wash of keys give the foundation for some of Rick's best work. Beautifully fluid solo work. The tone just makes me so much happier to have got my old SG back. Lovely melody and Rick does a great job on the vocals. Superb piece of work. Cheers Brian

Aw Rick....man. Truly inspiring. The flow of the song and progression used is flat out gorgeous. Your voice and vocal line so damn pleasing. And some of those lead notes, played in sequence with your phrasing...WOW. So sweet, so complete. You gotta be loving this. I do for sure. It's serene, beautiful, introspective...a great sound painting. Of course Gabriel's atmospherics and subtle piano add great hues to the scene. Just TERRIFIC. I'm inspired now. ~Blake

PIPERON (05 Jul 2008 04:27 PM)
It is not easy to do a soft or progressive rock, I tried that and failed miserably. The main melody is the heart of a rock, the listenser will remember a song with beautiful melodric line like this one. And most importantly, the lyrics should protrait a storyline way too difficult to forget. A love story is the most suitable passion a rock should consider and I found them all here. Hey Rick, you just got me hooked on this progressive rock stuff, maybe I should go back and revise my rock track then. LOL! With million of love from Singapore. Piperon

Rick....This is a solid song. You can actually nurture it into many different directions either into the a much harder metal direction or a softer pop rock feel. That gives alot of potential and a publisher would like that. Its got all the elements

I just came from Blake's page and now here, and it staggers me how much talent there is here. This flows so smoothly from start to finish. You make it all seem so effotless. Trademark vocals on this one,and the SG is singing, but singing differently once again... Smoother and sustaining forever if needs be. I can well imagine this live as being a show stopper, one that get's extended and extended again to showcase your superb lead work. Excellent work as always Rick. When that sg comes down with the cry baby,it is just blissful. Nigel.

The production on this track is excellent - don't know if you mix in 'phones...I'm listening on "buds" - and it sounds great. I LOVE your music - and I love the spirit that you offer to us all. Thank you, for sharing your blessing... K
