Oooh.... Lots of energy, this kind of music is my roots,so I am definately cool with the style. Check out Gunslinger on myspace (Winki wink) :) Awesome wall of sound. Drums going full tilt... Guitars creshendo. By the way, nice little run into the break. Reminds me of bands like Angelwitch etcetera... Yep,good stuff, sometimes the only way to go is to rock the hell out of something. Cool :) Nigel

Powerful stuff, Steph. Those drums are really pounding out. Love the guitar work. The vocals are good, but to my ears just a touch too far back in the mix. But a killer rocking track. Cheers Brian

Steph......great vocals, music writing and playing..but would love to hear a remix on this...it does almost sound live but very squashed. This song would kick butt with bigger dynamics and stereo imaging. Vox, RG and drum playing are standouts for me. Excellent work! ~Blake

Hi Steph, thought it was about time I came back to hear some more!! Love the brooding/melancholy sound of this - kind of sad at the start, but with the promise of something to come, and with great orchestration. Guitars sound great of course and the vocals and backing are spot on. --Paul

Beautiful & majestic example for symphonic rock... Steph, I can't help - you remind me of Alice Cooper from the start. I've got several albums of him, and I simply love that rough-melodic style... This is so deep, and I enjoy your passion on vocals too. - MORE than just nice!!! Pascal

Great classic rock theme flowing in this slow swinging song. I like the uptick at around 1:34 - awesome guitar work, and vocals are well done and suited for this genre. Kudos on "Changes" - grand performance! Cheers, Bob

Nice pic that Steph... Orchestral rock, epic and sweeping... Touches of Metallica about this... I love your voice mate, real deal rock voice. Very nicely aranged as well I might add. Lead was on the money, perfect for the piece, blending with the orchestra nicely to give that truly epic feel. Yes mate, this is class. Greatly enjoyed. Nigel.

Hi Steph... Wow...you really got it going on! I nearly crapped when I saw that you play all the instruments. You're a hell of a musician...and this track rocks. Nice guitar work and the mix is great...vocals definitely sound like Queensryche, I think. It's a bit "dark" for my tastes...but I know that's what you were shooting for! Great job here! Hugs...Mike (NAV)

oh man, Steph and Harley, you guys really nailed the Queensryche style in this track. Music is very well performad and the vox are stellar. Had it on pretty loud and the vox almost got over powering in the higher freqs (de-ess might help there) in some parts. Overall though this in one super track right in my favorite style.

Oh WOW-- this is a super track, Steph. It SURE DOES have a Queensryche vibe. The music is stellar-- as are the vox. All the elements are there. Could use a bit of de-essing, mebbe. The mix is powerful-- just needs a little punch. I'm amazed at this piece, really. It's just marvelous! Gina

Well hey...this is a damn good piece. Love the transitions from groove to non-groove...shows design creativity and works wonderfully besides. Some killer guitar bits that just don't blow smoke...they are saying what needs to be said. Rhythm section is rowing all in the same direction, playing is tight and production is clean and transparent. Is this a damn good piece? Sure is man. Steph.....very very nice! Kudos ~Blake

I'll echo selftort, as what he said below is exactly what I thought in now hearing a second song by Steph. Your sense of clear compositional structure comes through pretty loud and clear Steph. Love the embedded melody in this that gives the song a real identity. Certainly your fabulous playing helps, but wouldn't mean half as much without the very strong design of this piece. Once again.....you've laid this out so nicely and precisely. WONDERFUL. ~Blake

Good piece of music with a good mix on things. Guitar playing is excellent for this style. I like the use of the keys in this track, keeps it from being one long solo. Nice way to break things up in it.

3 words to discribe this EN ER GY :-) Track has loads of momentum, which I madly like . Vocals on top of all that. The brak around 2:00 i s really cool and those abrupt guitar thingies are just right. You really go on that guitar thing.

Very nicely done with great contrasts! The energy is very alive and comes across nicely thanks to a stellar mix! Around 2:11 it sounds like maybe your riding the volume to great effect. Loved it. It was a great setup for the final build.

selftort (06 Jan 2008 10:03 PM)
Another absolute ripper from you Steph. What I particularly like about your work is that there is a real sense of composition in what you play. The guitar work is sensational but it's clearly not just jamming. There a wonderful sense of structure in the work and the repeated motif that comes in for the first time at about 0:35 is as catchy as any rock hook. Love the way the drum tracks pwer this along. Wonderful work as usual. Congrats.
