Yeah! I agree with the sentiments expressed above. This one rocks! My only nit-pick was the acoustic guitar sound in the intro...sounded DI'd. Otherwise awesome song!

GREAT TRACK!!!! I rocked with this track quite a few times in a row this morning. I really got a Scorps feel, at first.......from the guitar.......it just flat out RAWKED!!!! The whole arrangement and feel of this song is TOP QUALITY ROCK, Shane and I like it a TON!!!! I still hear some Scorps guitar chords there and I LOVE it.......hehehehehehehehe Rob

Very solid, professional rock and roll. The lyrics certainly reflect the mood around my neck of the woods. I always love when a little church organ comes in to add power as it does in this song. All around pro work. Dave Deal

The DEEP (03 Aug 2008 08:11 AM)
DAY OF DESTRUCTION - ABOUT::: Well,, this is for sure not a relaxing song to listen to. Indeed it may be a little bit frightening. One person who is having alot of fun here though is Michael- he's really strangled that guitar here dishing out his special brand of manic nervosa- in guitar sound. Me , aside from screaming and singing i got to feel like Rick Wakeman at the Organ. When i was developing the lyrics, Michael suggested the idea to try some Organ in this- so i fired up a big Pipe Organ and, BANG ! - it came out cool !! (AT ABOUT 2:59) As for the lyrics,, er,,, Thus Quoth the Raven. Next track from The DEEP, we will try to do something a little more happy-er. Shane for The DEEP

Let me 1st say this Shane : you are quite brave in your choice of song matter choosing to write about things that many would have no idea ever happened. So much applause for that mate. Its kinda goes without saying that the music and the vocal performance are pretty much top notch. There are some moments of brilliance inside this hi energi rock that captivate the listener....the chosen subject matter will make people think (I hope) . Keep doing exactly what are doing Its cool Sly

Impressive, great mix of instruments and tones. Vocals and lyrics work real well with the production. Drums were and little weak on my end but did not hurt the song. I really like what you have done here.

When I read the info, I was already excited about a possible dramatic way of this song, and Shane and Michael did it... rock music on the highest level and adorable solo parts & drive, Shane's presence is fantastic and the arrangement is tight and dense. Fantastic track!

first off let me say i really like your style. i have listened to a couple tracks already , better start out w/ your new one. everything is well mixed , EQ`d , lots of separation of instruments & sound. the acoustic sounds great on this , wow ! i dunno how u get it so up front , compression ? love the vocals alot ! singer is really good & has a distinctive voice. love the effects used on it , really thick ! lead guitar tone reminds me of old aldo nova off of debut ..:) [ life is just a fantasy ] will def get to more tracks : oh , the percussion on this is unusual , but great ! would love to see u guys live ! keep in touch aka`

Beautiful, beautiful... the intro guitar mood reminds me so much of "The Eagle will rise again"!!! And than THAT rockin' energy - blows me away. Cheers to you both, Shane and Michael, for a fantastic mix of traditional guitar rock with the balladesque, rich expression of Shane's vocal - which can be quite rockin' and passionate at times... and I love that unusual little solo at 3 minutes, and Micheals solo parts. The effects are so cinematic. This is a non-commerical gem. Cheers, Pascal

Ok, I am with everyone else here... I am in awe about this VERY cool intro! Very impressive!!! Michael and Shane - what a combination. Electrifying indeed!!! Love those heavy guitars, guys. Super lead with a nice tone. Vocals ... what can I say!! LOVE THEM!!! I know that at least Shane knows where to upload this tune, so I can play it on "Saturday Night Rocks" here on Mix Radio, right???? EXCELLENT tune, gents!!! Cheers, Mike

Hi Guys... Great intro. (How the hell do you get such great thunderstorm sounds...LOL? Wow...when the hard rocking part kicks in...it's time to run for cover. Nice controlled guitar sound...beautiful tone. Lyrics are excellent...the pipe organ was unexpected...but fit very nicely into this track. The whole track is smoking. I'm digging this one! Hugs...Mike (NAV)

love those bells in the intro..acoustic sounds so clear. Aw man it gets heavy...AWESOME...Shane and Michael never cease to amaze me with their work together. This track is sheer power rock and has it all...excellent vocals, fantastic guitar work and pro sounding production.

Shane and Michael, top effort in this one. I really like the shift to a heavier style of sound and you've pulled it off with aplomb. The gentle acoustics in the intro don't give a hint to the power that is about to be unleashed (although the thunder et al probably should have alerted me). Lovely crunching guitars from Michael (both rhythm and lead). Shane's voice cuts through beautifully. Great lead lines round the 2:00 mark with a seamless reentry into the vocals and some great harmonies. Love your work in the upper register Shane. Classy bit of work indeed. Cheers Brian

Hey! I know I did this one before, but wanted to let you know that I came back for another listen. Wanted to hear the line that Rappi was talking about, "...no one in their right minds...". Yep-- great ear he has! Sure does have a heavy Beatley quality. It's like a Lennon idea with a Macca sound. I could hear this coming from Sgt Pepper! Yaaaaaaayyyyy!! Gina

Michael and Shane, I have honestly forgotten what over-compression sounds like or means, so let me tell you this. The guitar sounds great! The vocals are magic, and I love a thumping bass...oh!...Uh... heh heh-- well, I DO! Big sound, big production-- that's how I've come to know and love you guys. Enjoyed it very much, guys. Love the bass in here. It is almost sinister the way it works in the tune. Guitar work is also excellent. Vocals are captivating. Nice work gentlemen. Touch of Trevor Rabin-era Yes in the bridge. And it works.

Shane's signature voice is all overthis track! Excellent sound guys. It may be a bit over-produced but damn you guys have a great sound and the ability to over-produce! I'm under it all the way. Dig the panning as well. Later, nice track. KB

tunez (30 May 2008 07:35 PM)
Good tune. A bit over produced for my taste, the mix is overly 'sqaushed'. Your rythem ( midi drums/ bass) section needs to be tighter, especially for this type of song. Guitar a bit too hot, drums too compressed & buried. I enjoyed the song on the whole but would like to hear it breathe dynamically.

So how long does it take to asertain how much class this song has? Oh about 5.2 seconds I would imagine. It hits you on the first few notes. Just pure class. Beautifuly written, aranged and performed. Shane, you just keep on getting on better mate. Staggeringly beautiful vocal/lyrics. "It makes me sad when yuo won't respond to me" Sigh.... What a line. Gorgeous guitar as well. This is about as good as it ever gets. Beautiful. Nigel.

The DEEP (23 Mar 2008 08:13 PM)
ABOUT: THE WHISPER is one of the newest songs to come from us. We have joined hands with Bill Thompson again for this one. Bill Thompson is the composing artist and producer of the soundtrack we use in 'The Iceland'. In this new production, The whisper, the piano is composed and performed by Wolfy (we tagged Bill with the nickname Wolfy). The demo we've posted here is the forunner of a larger production. Wolfy has some great phases that unfold in the later half of the piano composition that we look forward to building on. The DEEP Piano: Bill Thompson Guitar: Michael Styron Lyrics, Vocals, and arrangement: Shane

I love your music. Always a pleasure to check out a new posting. Those vocals! Ah, yes!!! Just a demo, huh? Sounds great to me. Great, powerful, deep lyrics, too. I can feel theemotion in the way they are delivered. The guitar is just enough -- and works well with the piano and vocal. This is quality stuff. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful song on this Easter evening. Paul

Deep is the programm... I think, Inge's radio show (Serious-Music) is the reason that I know your band at all, Shane and Michael. - besides the shining performance of all instruments and Shane on the Mike, I especially love the suptle effect design and calm moments. I'm looking forward to get more into The Deep...

Ah the pic :) I remember buying this collection of vinyl albums... Can't recall their name, but they were split albums. You would get say Jimi Hendrix one side and the Who on the other, and the album cover was always the same, showing a little child smoking what looked like a joint, real photo, not a drawing... Anywas.... Waffling as always... Well I would recognise Shane's excellent vocals anywhere. He is IMHO one of the best singers on the WWW today. His voice is simply,so right on whatever he does. The musicanship on this track is first rate,as is the production. Top to bottom,drums,bass,guitars,synths.... Just all so in sync with the whole spirit of the piece. By all rights, thuis should be blasting out of mainstream airwaves, and on all the current music TV channels, and it is awefuly hard to accept that it is not. CLASS. Nigel.

The same excellence as "Don't wanna lose it"... Again,I struggle to understand how this music isn't signed. After a lifetime in music,I still have this belief in music, that it should and can triumph over business, and surely, any A&R man, would take a listen to the first 30 seconds (As they usualy do),and sign you guys up. But alas... Sigh... Staggering song guys,it just oozes class,it oozes emotion and screams for success to welcome it home. GREATLY enjoyed. Nigel.
