Nice catchy track guys. I agree with Rob, love the psychedelic sound of the 60's.
Sweet! You threw everything and the kitchen sink too into this mix. The backup vocals, however, are what really puts the shine to this song. You've got the harmonies down perfect, at just the right spots. Well done!
Nice track this, catchy and well worked. Massive 60's feel to it, in fact at points I can hear where maybe the inspiration for this piece came from. Well Done
I love this tune David...its got a great feel and sound. the arrangement is outstanding as are the vocals. I totally enjoyed this track....is that a mandolin?
awesome!

Up beat and yes, psychedelic rock with a hint of the Wilburys and Dead in that cool chorus! Great song and I'm going back for listen #2 and maybe#3, 4........!

Great feel to this song. I LOVED the instrumentation and the chord pattern. The vocals are super......that chorus really has the psychedelic sound of the 60's, very cool. The lead break is a perfect fit. GREAT JOB!

Like the melody you've crafted from that descending bass line and as usual your vocals and harmonies are really tight. Some nice guitar work gives it that classic rock sound. I'm not sure that it's sitting together as a completely cohesive song. The changes seem to stutter a bit. I think you've got a potentially great song here. REally like the harp behind the vocals.
Cheers

Nice CLASSIC sound, loved the change up's there. Again, your vocals are right on. A very original arrangement with a classic sound, GREAT JOB!!

What a beautiful yearning song you have here. And the vocals call up so much images...things we all can relate to.Love the guitars and the solo
Great full package, David. I remember not so long ago when you were complaining to me about your guitar work, and yet, despite the quality of your vocals (that have always been outstanding) you're getting so many comments on this one about your guitar work. Lovely variation in guitar tones and some very fluid playing Love the way that the guitars complement rather than compete with your vocals. Great production for a lovely track.

Love the tones, and the song. Might be country but I hear some classic rock in there as well. Vocals are great, definitley a 5 star song and performance! Thanks for sharing! I'll be back to catch some more of your tunes for sure. :)

David , your vocals are great in this tune and the guitars are soundin sweet.
I like the arrangement and the lyrics are done really well. drum track didn't bother me at all, I liked the sparseness of it.

Oh yeah that guitar is sweet. Love the vocals and harmonies and the whole feel. It sounds to me like this song wants to be in 3/4 time for some reason.
This is a sweet little number, almost everything about it works. Like previous reviewers the drum track lets it down. To me it sounds like a midi click track. other than that you got a great song well done
Real nice tune with excellent vocals and guitar work. I have to agree with FP, the drum track is a bit distracting.
I melt when I hear a guitar tone like on that tremolo guitar. It's a classic sound I recall so well. This is nicely mixed. Very cool, from start to finish.
Love the guitar work - and the blend and the vocals - I'm having a hard time feeling the drum track against the rest of it tho.
I think without the drums, I'd love it.
Love the tremolo guitar !! Well all guitars have great tones ! Think this is a beautiful pice of music. Like the arrangement and mix.
Thanks for posting.

Nice intro and transition into the upbeat section of the song. I liked the use of the synth, it added a bit of ambience to it. Vocals and harmonies are super and a cool vocal break. VERY CATCHY Chorus. Great song.

Although I'd heard this track before, it seems clear that there's been some work done on it. It's much cleaner than the last version I heard. From memory there was too much happening rhythmically as you led into the chorus, but you've tidied it up really well. It's a great song and I'm pleased that those lovely vocals aren't now competing with a crazy drummer. Great work David.
good feeling in begining. Unexpected tempo changes -
interesting lyric.
I really like how you built the intro and how it flows into the verse. Vocals are done quite nicely and the music has your touch. love the twist you put in "carry this weight" .

Full Quid;
A bit of Dylan there, and some G. Harrison slide. Kool. The vocals are rich and emotive/expressive. Gotta love the richness of the 12-string guitar. This is a very catchy wonderful down home -eartjy tune. Beautiful composition. I look forward to more.
Keep on keepin on. Most fine production and sound mix.
Your fan and friend from the land-up-over (lol) Canada. -Vesa.

Really enjoyed this song. Like everyone else has said - good use of the different instruments and the vocals are great. Nice easy folk/country feel.
I'll be back to listen to the others. For now I have to go and chase some kangaroos out of the top paddock. :)

IMHO this is the best track I've heard from you. Excellent writing. Vocals as usual a standout. But the backing is really good. It provides a great foundation to allow the vocals to shine. Guitar, drums, bass, harp, lead and backing vocals all in sync with some really nice touches. The short string instrumental section is just timed right and give a great springboard for the excellent vocals and harmonies in the outro. Wonderful piece of work. Got to give it a 5.
Good song with a very catchy chorus.
I do like this one.
Excellent !
Yeah, nice intro and some really cool instruments going on in this one.
David, I'm really into the way you're singing this song, its right in your zone.

FIRST, Welcome to IMS !
Hey, this is the first tune of yours I've spun - very cool. I was pulled right in by the intro - and I love your choice of tools.

Haven't heard this before, David. I'm really pleased that your recordings are focussing on your real strengths as a writer and performer. You write beautiful melodies, have a sensational voice and ability to harmonise with yourself. On occasions I used to get the impression that you were looking for that "magnum opus" and trying to do too much to your tracks when the writing, guitar work and vocals were able to stand up by themselves without too many other bells and whistles. Beautiful work here, that, like Rob says, does have a Beatles feel to it.

Very excellent Dave! I'm just sittin back enjoying this cool tune. A great arrangement
and harmonies are done very well.

Great job. Love the acoustic playing and the song structure. I agree on the chords...very nice. I agree on the Beatles as well. It definitely has that feel!
Loved the harmonies!

I LOVED the chord atrrangement on this song, they really reminded me of a Lennon type Beatle song. Nice vocals and the leads fit VERY well. Great Job on this song.

Hi Wilberry,
Very nicely written and recorded folk-rock tune.
I like the vocal harmonies a lot.
Very tasteful dynamics at 2:14 where the acoustic guitar drops out
to make room for the harmonica and the middle part of the song.
Is the lead vocal double-tracked?
Enjoyed it a lot!
David,I have to say these are some great tunes you've posted here. Your mixes are all good, everything sounds d@mn good man. Chorus of this one is a haunter,I will be humming it the rest of the morning... :)
Peace,

Arguably your best bit of writing from my perspective. Nice piano and acoustic guitar. Vocals and harmonies superb. Love the build up to the chorus and it's a really hooky one here. Particularly nice chord and melody changes in the middle 8 and great re-entry into the chorus. Won't go on about the drums, but note that Pete agrees with me. The track in my view stands on its own as an acoustic piece that is extremely well written and played. I'd prefer it without the distraction of the drums. But you already knew that I'd say that.
Cheers

Very nice song and I LOVED the vox...very nice harmonies. The tempo change is very catchy and really added to the song. The piano and harmonica sold me 100% GREAT TRACK!! Don't know Denver...... :-( :-)

So what's so bad about Denver? :) I really liked the playing and the vocals. Really nice harmonies too. The drums seemed to me to not quite fit in a few places. Just where the hi-hats drop in and out (and maybe it's emphasised because they are so prominent) and there was also a spot where it sounded like the drummer changes from sticks to brushes and then back again a few times within a couple of bars. Are those loops? But overall I did enjoy it. The harmonies reminded me of CSN in places.
Very nice, especially the acoustic instruments.

You know what you need? Car horns! This is the sound of a traffic jam, confusion reigning in an orderly way. THAT's how it all stays together. I wonder if the voice needs to be the louder sound, in the cabin of the car, with the instrumentation the sound of the other cars and your radio sitting back a bit more. An utterly intriguing track.

Where did that"Precious Angel" guitar solo sound come from? Good stuff! This isn't genre bending, it's splintering. You've somehow fused sounds, rhythms, and instruments from what should be discrete styles, and you've made it work well here - but that's what you've been doing for quite some time now (and you just keep getting better and better at it). Fine singing, especially in the catchy choruses.
This is incredibly different..... in a good way. The best way I can describe it is as if you took a crystal vase, dropped it on the hard floor, it broke into a thousand pieces, and the resulting sound, as the pieces bounced around, was something quite musical. Very unique and enjoyable!

This is a cool track David, You got a lot going on and you DO hold it all together quite well. Your approach to music is very original and its fresh and I'm diggin the heck out of it.

Well I guess you said it best in your info,"rhythmically dyslexic alt pop rock" but it's a cool track. I really like how you fit it together. I do like how it seems to all even out at about the 3:00 mark.
This sucha different song. I'm not sure how it all stays together, when everything sounds like it's about to scatter in different directions, but it does. Brilliant! I will say that in places -- especially the chorus -- the instruments overtake the vocal. I'd try to roll the guitars back there a bit, or find a way to bump up the vocals -- at least when you hit the chorus,
Is there a bass guitar in this song. If there is, I don't hear it. I think the song works well without it in the verses, but I would add it or kick it in in the chorus, and see how it sounds.

Very good getting better on its way to best ... all of the "things" you were trying "back in the day" that made you stand out are somehow improving daily to make you stand out even more. This is very high quality work, my friend! Notice that all of the comments are highly complimentary. You know your work has a professional polish to it when the pros find only a bit of busy drums or thin guitar to be improved upon. Top marks!
Unmistakeable Lunbeck here. I know you love that effect on your vocal; is there ever a chance you'll dial it back a little, just to see what it sounds like? I have to agree with Selftort about the drums, though you know I'm a drum hack. That thin guitar sound he refers to-- I think I agree. This song could use a little more low-end crunch to complement the tone. Another thought-provoking arrangement.

Really good percussion. Fine vocals with emotion and much expression. Good guitar phrasing, with an edge. Like the harmonies. Great!! Like it. Nice chnage of tempo, using the acoustic amkes for an interesting moody feel. Excellent sound mix and arranging.

Nice song brother, might have to start calling you The Traveling Wilberry !
Really dig that Hammond B3 sound you got going on here.Good tune all around.
Nice work on the vocals, harmonies sound good man.

You're certainly getting that Petty sound down nicely David. Another really well written song to highlight your particular vocal talents. Excellent double guitar work on the intro. Really strong melody line and the crunching and jangling rhythm guitar works really well. The guitar break at about 1:20 sounds a bit thin to me. Nothing wrong with the playing but it's sort of been left alone. I think you could leave the rhythm guitar in that section to give it a bit more body. Excellent harmonies throughout. I might sound like a broken record but I think at times the drums are a little bit busy. Your writing is good and the songs stand on their own two feet. Don't mind the drumming in the instrumental breaks but if it distracts from your singing then I take issue with it. Loved the change of pace in the middle. Really good writing and performance. Sorry to nag you about the drums.
Cheers
Brian
