I like the lyrics apart from the acoustic work. Of course, the vocal is the bonus. Indeed, I agreed, the bassline is catchy but it would be more ideal if I have it in my site too. LOL! Overdriven guitar always give me a sense of sensational, like those in Valkir music if you can remember. With million of love from Singapore. Piperon - One and Only spiritual flute player on Earth.

Under the Blade...awesome guitar picking with the panning Voice story changeing all about...full depth dynamic thrill when all comes Pink floyd-ing N...nice touch of attitude and Xpression...the guitar solo work fits the groov and acoustic feel with a surreal approach...got the sound and feel of classic tonage...ThanX 4 the listen and sharing...~Austn

hey man! I liked this song a lot - you had great balance stereo wise - which I find to be one of the most important things in song making. The only thing that put me off a little was the delay on your vocals - it was too obvious - it should be more subtle, and maybe pingponged a bit to give it a more ethereal sound - otherwise it was pretty good! -shawn-

Very much like the guitar work on this track - both the acoustic and electric. Excellent mix and clear sound - great work!

This is a great piece. I listen to a lot of Gothic Rock from Finland and Sweden, this has that same feel. Music enhances the lyrics perfectly. Haunting piece and perfectly executed! Ian

"Under the Blade" - a choice cut! You're like a drag racer at the starting line ..megatons of energy just waiting to be unleashed on the world. I can relate to that padded cell line ... every year's a GOODYEAR in my room. Sounding even better the second time through - most definitely ready for prime time!

This is some classic songwriting. Great emotional delivery of some great but disturbing lyrics. Can't remember the last time lyrics affected me like that, whew. Love the guitar playing and the production is great also. Great tune.

Tsar great song! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. The lyric is very deep and even though the words are dark, your delivery and presentation takes me back to a time of newness. The times when I couldn't wait to get home with my new album purchase, rip the celephane off, and let down the stylus for some good music. Overall, a great listen! Farrell

yup, brilliant tone on the acoustic, I like the way you kept it part of the mix through the track. You do have a classic sound and style, brings me to think about the best era in music. "silence always screams" what a great line. great lyrics. Bass nicely fills the bed track, cool sound on that lead to, especially at the finish. Great home cookin!! Ed

KILLER !! - personally,, i love this. Also this track helps show the answer to Rapsters discussion blog about technology doing out music for us. -- This track, is obviously carved out of flesh and blood. Flesh and Blood man, "!!! that's where the real music always has been ,, and will continue to come from. This is real cool Tsar. -- great vox, great guitar , and great Bass. - and again, i listen especially to the Bass- played by our very own Tsargoth. GREAT ROCK TRACK shane for The DEEP

Great lyrics Tsar and love the clean acoustic sound. When this kicks in that electric distorted guitar is blowing me away. Sounds great against the acoustic and the fantastic bass line. I like the sound at the 6 min mark. That sounds fantastic! Great job Tsar!

Tsargoth, this track has wonderful lyrics and the kind which do you present this track is great. Melody and atmosphere sounds heartful and emotional, also your vocals. The guitars in the middle are wonderful. I like this track with this sentimental atmosphere very much. Really great job!

Tsar... No need for a return review,I owe you at least one!!! Well, this is an epic piece. Reminds me of great classics like Fade To Black,One etcetera. A very nice acoustic intro leading decpetivly to the full band sound. Must make mention of the solo, perfect for the job IMHO. But the star is the lyrics. Very deep indeed, and sung with great emotion. Yes,EPIC and classic. Nice work mate :) Nigel.

damn that bass is awesome bro.. what a tone too.. like rico said.. man like everybody said.. the guitars are ace.. your solo was excellent.. the lyrics are off the fucking hook tsar.. the emotion is so strong.. we feel you totally in this song.. the song form by the way is awesome too.. man i love everything about it.. the guitars to the end are killer.. man though.. for me.. your lyrics and vocal delivery and that 5 string bass.. or did you tune down? that is some sub tones in there that shake the earth brother.. awesome effort and result.. thanks for being a pillar of strength here.. cheers.. :-)

Wow, that guitar intro is so haunting...and your lyrics, voice are memorable..Damn, those lyrics are cutting Tsar, xx I wish you`d posted them so I could read as I listen, cause although you`re singing clearing I think they hit harder if they can be read at the same time...You are an excellent musician and as a solo artist you`ve found yourself. This is one of those songs that will stay with me for a long time, love it Tsar..I can`t pick out different parts to comment on as this is all so very haunting, fits perfectly together... Peace, love n hugs Mags xx :-)

Tsarg - great composition with a really incredible emotion throughout in both the vocal and instrumentation. Well Done!
User Image
WILDHONEYPIE (17 Apr 2008 09:08 PM)
Oh my my-- these lyrics are just excellent, and the melody is dark and beautiful. But Tsarg, wow-- your words are so fcking awesome-- could I have them just to read as you sing the song? Ah geezzee and the delivery just reaches out and grabs every bit of my attention. The bass and guitars are so damned good-- the whole sound is! There has always been something about your solo stuff that makes me never want to miss a beat. I know for a fact, that two of those reasons are your bass and your vocal delivery. But that's just the superficial stuff. What is real with your music, is the part of YOU that you leave with each and every tune. I haveta tell you, no kidding or smoke up your shirt-- you are THE best songwriter, man, in my opinion-- can't ever wait for the next to come out!! Gina

Tsar, love the clear sound on your acoustic and the way you're playing it....aw man it just kicked in...awesome track, I can feel the emotion in the vocal. This is a real solid track, lyrics are deep and tell a story and the melody is dark.... now the solo is coming into play...oooh love that tone, its got that big far away sound. You get one of the best bass sounds, its tight and has that thump. I can tell you put alot into this track and it shows...excellent! !

Tell me honestly, who is Juju? This person must be very importance to you. If your acoustic playing can charm me, I don't see why you can charm her? Very skillful and season in the plucking. Although I do not know how to play the guitar but the appreciation that I can get from such music is huge. I always envy people like you who can play the guitar so well. I would have plenty of girls sitting beside me if I can. With million of love from Singapore. Piperon - One and Only spiritual flute player on Earth.

Really good playing on a pretty song. I love the melody all the way through and there are good diversions along the way. Pleasant & a joy to listen to. You're main graphic, btw, is quite cool; it through me for a loop when I heard this song as it sounds much nicer than the skeletal king with his axe. jk

Yep Tsargot.....Good JuJu in this song's uplifting sound and melody. I love those open tunings because they make one think differently about how a song is composed. You've certainly got a good one here! I can hear why it's got a lot of reviews and I'm sure more are to come. Nice playing and the bass and guitar when done right, is all that's needed! Farrell

This is nicely flavoured, Very baroque in it's essence. It's the kind of feel I hear from musicians that specialise in playing medieval instruments. Like the lute and lyre. Very tasty and well performed, this shows a quality musician. well done

Hey Tsar....sweet track for sure man! You know, your acoustic chord progressions and playing all by itself would be just fine...but with your great bass line the song just sings. I love your chord choices and the bass as a propellant. A very happy and festive sounding affair, this song is as classy as it is engaging. Very fine tunage and a new side of you ...kudos. Love it ~Blake

Always wish I'd got round to learning "open tunings". Now the old adage about "old dogs and new tricks" comes into play. Real Zep feel to this. Love the addition of the bass. This might sound STUPID....but there's something about this track that reminds me of Christmas. it's got that really joyous community feel about it that Christmas tracks have. A few discreet changes and some appropriate vocals and you could have a Christmas hit on your hands. Love the way people are really bassing their tracks up in honour of Rob. Great work Tsar Cheers Brian

Yep, I hear some Led Zep ala LZ III, maybe a bit of Yes, too. But what I'm hearing the most is you. Lot of heart and soul here, my friend. You have a real gift on the acoustic, as you probably already know. Demonstrates another side to your considerable skills as a songwriter. And the emotions you convey here: priceless. Rob will love this! And I'd love to hear some more from this side of you, too. Peace, Jim

Yep-- ZEP!! It's an awesome tune-- vocals or no-- I love that kind of gui-tar playin'. I'm simply amazed at how versatile you are. Makes me wonder what else is in store... it's like a treasure chest. So be sure to keep me in the loop-- I'm really enjoying your solo stuff-- very much indeed. The vibes are healing, you bet. Just the way this piece flows-- it's beautiful, and it flows like cool water in a spring. A healing spring-- yes, that's what it is! Really, really like this, Tsarg. Good medicine/magic,indeed. Nice work mate, and I say that as a lifetime Mr Page fan/devotee. I hope you relalise just how good this is? That playful spirit is one of the very hardest things to capture IMHO,that lightness, that striding optomismum... It is without doubt a little gem and the very best I have heard from you in solo capacity,AND I venture to say possibly at all! Not a comment I would make lightly given your other material. Take this someone where safe and treasure it for always. It is a little gem. Perfect. Beautiful. Sigh... Nigel.

I always have a strange feeling towards Alternate Rock, it gave me a kind of difference sensation compared with rock and blue. And I was quite curious about blueglass too. And definitely, I am alway confused with all these music genre too. BUT, but I had never thrash these music, music is about passion and you had done it in your works too. Keep the work flowing, my friend. With million of love from Singapore. Piperon - One and Only spiritual flute player on Earth.

This is actually quite a really excellent song- i refer to the lyric line and melody. Excellent composition. !! Now, on the downside, - the mastering sounds to me like something isnt quite right.- no problem though that can always be re-approached. plus- maybe im wrong and its just my cheap PC speakers. cool song -- !!

There certainly is a nice edge and consistent drive to this track. Thats some laid vocal fits the am tired of ....lyric. Maybe it could be an idea to double up your voice in spots and maybe singing the last bit with a little more aggression in your voice.... nice drive though! Regards Patrick

I really like this track, for me it's one of your best. The melody line is great, and the delivery even better. The thing that comes over most is the backing, apart from the drums and the solo's I had difficulty in picking much of the instrumentation. Cracking number though, enjoyed this one

Tsar... I see this is a song for Rob,yet Rob reviewed it earlier???? You making an album for Rob? This is entirely different again... Much more in the band setting... Maybe a potential for the band? Heavied up it would definately work. Even as is it comes across as a good solid rock song, perhaps a demo for the band maybe? I keep hearing it as a full band song, that's what has me wondering about this one. Once again, damn solid song writing mate. Nigel.

man this is sweet!! frigging great intro solos. Bass line is perfect as always. What makes me laugh is I listen through headsets and bass lines are usually distant. Yours are right out front where they should be. Bass playing like this needs to be highlighted. Vocals are excellent my friend!! You are a man of many talents. Guitar solos - damn impressive! melodic and a sweet tone. Does not get much better than that.

Sweet intro, vocal fine, nice guitar and D&B. This is quite nice piece, music overcomes the vocal a bit but may be my system here. I ;ike it T. The RatMan!

Man, what I have noticed about all your music, is how fuckin' great your lyrics are and how truthfully you sing them... The music is top notch, to be sure, especially the guitarwork on this; it really shines; incredible bass runs on there, too. But it's still the voice and those words that cuts through everything, puts a real sincere vibe on the whole production. I know it's a cliche, but your speak the truth, my brother... indeed you do. And I like how you say it! thanks for sharing your soul... Peace, Jim

Diggin the classic sound your getting on this tune, I like the way you built up the guitar tracks for the big sound, theres some great bass work here to. Congrats on the lyrical work here, the song is married to the lyrics. ..heavy duty theme..

Hey T...the only I thing I find lacking here is the mix. Seems like everything is in the back except for the snare & kick drums. This is a REALLY really nice song and I love your voice playing and lyrics...everything - but the mix (sorry)! Still, it's a pleasure to listen to you my friend. Excellent song man! ~Blake

Vocals and lyric are my fav part of this- nothing wrong with the playing either mind you ... drums have a tiny clip- but who cares. I enjoyed the performance man. I always like harmonized lead lines too.

As numbers go, this one is impressive. for me it sounded kind of flat. It seemed to lack the dynamics of much of your previous work. Good song, but not your best by any means
