Yes Vesa... If technology was brought in to beef this up,full on band sound... This would be a classic. Would be great movie music. As is,capturing the idea... It all works, and it shows that this is indeed a very good piece, just in need of some TLC from mother technology to take it up a level. But this detracts nothing from what it is,which is a damn good piece of writing and playing. MOST enjoyable Vesa Nigel.

Thanks very much Mike-K. Cool. I must have time on my hands now, (lol) unchained from my teaching. Thank you Eric-inspired by your response. I've been listening to too many cassette's from the 70's and 80's-- I guess-the cheesy beats from those eras stick like mud, lol. Take care all.

Whatever you do...you never seem to walk the downbeaten track...That's good...keeps a thickhead like me on my toes and my brain working...At first I took the sound of the piano for a zither or something...Have to change the battery of my hearing aid sometime...Adventure after adventure is being served up here with new undiscovered spices....Eric

No matter what your recording abilities may be, this little jam turned out nicely!!! Love the beat (could us a bit more "oomph"), but I really love the lead here a lot!!! Picked it up for the show!! Cheers, Mike

Vesa I love the music by Django Reinhardt and you did it very well. Excellent sound - you got the feeling of the early 40th, 50th. My truly compliments to play that kind of music. Do you also know Henryi Crolla - I love him... Thanks for that outstanding idea and tune. I think our project will be realised soon :-)) ERik

It's a short & sweet ditty of the eclectic gypsy in me too. I've been lucky to have some spare time now. It maybe one uploaded for awhile, and fun it was. One can't ever 'be him;, never, of course,- just try to feel his soul out and turn it into my way. That's about all so much.

A cool little jam !! As with the majority of my friend's, Vesa, tunes, the openest of the feel and jam are whats count, and this one is no exception. It just moves (or is that grooves) along nicely, with Rob adding some great open-atmosphere to it. To me, it really had that San Francisco - summer of love feel to it. Sounded like fun, and it's fun to listen to. William

Vesa and Rob that stands for two excellent musicians. I hear your individual guitar style Vesa and it links the traditional sound with a very modern style. A little touch of oriental music combined with some pop rock and 60th blues elements. I'm always impressed of your courage to start some musical experiments. Cool. My complents to that two outstanding guys. Erik

Thanks to my collaborator Rob Grant for his fine Mix/mastering of his synth brass, his fine movin' bass, cosmic synth bass choir,& surely things I think I'm hearing magically produced with a cool enveloping of my Variax guitar, mandolin, piano and also thanks to the percussionist he,he. Great Rob. Most fun.

Cybase (25 Aug 2008 09:25 PM)
Hi guys...this one is good fun! Really chugs along nicely. Some great performances. :) I found the mix a little harsh on the ears though, and there's a real tangle of instruments and sounds jumbled on top of each other center-stage which I think would be better panned wider. cool!

This was supposed to have been done by us. lol Soundz cool to me, really dig that late 50's smoky bar lp sound. Must be a human playing; I hear a reverb and a couple of wood floors pounding and a twang.
User Image

If you like Elmore James I'm sure you'll like Hookers rendition of a slow EJ's tune with a bit uptempo for sure. Coming sometime soon. Nice change. Can't wait. Have patience.

I will be doing another Elmore James tune very likely, maybe collab. in the near future. hanks to all who enjoyed and reviewed this one. I need to get my teaching preparation set up as an 'Internet teacher' under the Ontario Ministry of Education, being situated in a resort area in N.W. Ontario, Canada. Kool!!! Look up 'Pickle Lake, Ontario' on Google Earth... Then you'll almost find me. ha,haa. Don't zoom down too far, or you may drown in the huge million dollar view of a lake infront of my temporary residence. Thanks all.

You said it all so right Hooker; This needed no extra, not even bass, to give it that early 60's lp, sound. The piano does fine with the bass keys. The review/comments coming from a slide talent & singer as you my friend means alot to me, with those inspiring words Erik. -Your friend. -Vesa.
User Image
HOOKER-GREEN (23 Aug 2008 03:59 PM)
WEll Vesa I´m happy that you realised that project. And the sound is very near the original. I told You I love not only the slide of E.J. than the drumms and the piano of his band. And you did it wonderful. I know a number of songs of Elmore James and I like to hear it every time. Your guitar style played with your Dobro sounds as in the early 60th, rythm is cool (especialy the rythm supported by the piano) - oh man phantastic that you realised that idea.... With much respect your frinend Erik

Cool reggae-- you've painted quite a picture here. Inspiring. You have a very creative style, uniquely yours. Your music comes complete with visual-inspiring soundscape. I love the concept fantastic song!! My only suggestion would be to slow the pace down. When I lived in the US virgin islands in the the late 70's I remember that live bands played very laid back slow beat. The Rasta's liked a little grass..
