Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Tanner found an interest in music through his parents; both of which were avid musicians. His childhood built his appreciation for music, and then at the beginning of high school he took up the drumsticks. He played with various bands through high school, even though only one ever played a gig. Finally, shortly after graduation, he encountered the members of his current band, Funeral Circle. Their demo release is soon, and they have had a number of successful shows in the year or so they have been together. Also, he's partaking in a blues/rock program to play at the Summer Blues Festival in Nanaimo.
