About Barefoot Baroness: My name is Toni Taylor, I am a freelance writer who also works in public relations with a special fondness for the independent music industry. I have been a vocalist for 4 plus decades, performing in the genres of rock, country rock, & folk bands & duets. In the 1980's I sang as a member of The University of Oregon Women's Chorale Society, a complete culture shock for me that took me out of my comfort zone as we performed classic show tunes.
The agenda for this site is to purposely showcase independent artists in the world of music to more listeners. To create household names. From around the world there is music not being played on mainstream commercial radio and while this is in a personal opinion; Barefoot Music feels this is a good thing!
The Internet is filling a magnificent void and leveling the playing field for todays musicians. No pun intended.
I am watching with great interest this exciting time in the history of music with sites like mixexposure.com increasing the musicianship world-wide. There are such positive avenues available now by using the highways of the Internet and social media to create larger fan-bases, to expose more people to more music, and to influence the music intelligence in everyone's world.
It is Barefoot Music's wish and goal to bring more exposure to the fine independent artists in the world. These amazing and talented people see the world with no borders. Through the posting of their music, their stories, their contact information, gig dates and record sales the hope is to expose more people, to more independent music. And the even more wonderful thing is this serendiptious nature that occurs with the creation of even more fans.
We hope you continue to play the music, buy the music, share the music.....and always enjoy the music. ~
