I remember laying in bed as a young teen with my ear on a speaker listening to Focus.
Hearing Jan play guitar was always a joy but this time it was particularly pleasurable.
It was the guitar solo to Questions! Answers ? Answers ? Questions? and the right then and there I decided that one day I would learn to express myself with that type of melodic freedom/
Little did I know how much work Jan did and how much he studied music.
I was under the impression that most of it was created and spontaneously.
After many years playing singing and strumming folk songs I remembered my original goal and after finding Mixposure decided to create improvised music in hopes to find this creative freedom.
Over the last 12 years I have posted hundreds of creations.
Now with many years of enjoyment posting as Bill B here on the mix-
I have always liked the sublime and the ridiculous progressive rock of the 70;s and still enjoy it's
humor. The Music of Focus and the progressive rock acts I owe a debt to the expansion of my tastes.
There's just something about a Hammond, synth, guitar, bass and drums with classically influenced rock music that just does it for me. I have a vast collection to listen to and sometimes feel the need to experiment my self rather than listen.
