An enthusiatic progressive rock fan of the 70's for interests sake I took an elective university course in Electronic and Experimental Music in the 80's.
Ended up using much of it working as a professional sound and stage technician.
I picked up guitar a little as I worked a lot professionally as a stage tech and there always seemed to be guitarists around so picked up some guitar chords as well as many guitar "cords".
I have never practiced much in the way of technique like licks but rather being able to play freely by improvising simply and concentrating on overall mix and recording effects.
As it brought back some fun from my teenage tragic rock band years I decided to keep music as a hobby by combining it with learned tech knowledge and got into creating original music and so I just keep practicing.
Usually like to use synths and 3 fingered chords and I m a lover of manufactured preset tracks from beat boxes I figure it's fair game if groove-able.
Occasionally For drums and to get fresh inspiration, I use DRUM DROPS and use them to jam over repeatedly.
Plus the natural sound more appealing than a drum machine in some cases.
