Heinz Karnitschar and David Barnes first worked together on a song called CAKEWALK BLUES. This was an online collaboration effort between 7 Cakewalk Forum Members.  A few very creative weeks later, the two of them started to work together on Heinz’s own songs. Soon they decided to form a band, a temporary online band, if you will. It was a great way to combine their talents, ideas and creativity into one project: THE HEINZ DAVID PROJECT.

Not long afterwards, Leona, David's wife, also joined this project.

Since December of 2006, all of Heinz's songs [he had composed back in the 1990s], as well as some brand new ones, have been recorded and released under this name.

On January 1, 2008 - 'The Heinz-David Project' was renamed BLUE SAHARA.

In October of 2008 their debut album titled 'Through Dreams To Reality' has been released. The CD is available at CD Baby, and MP3 downloads at iTunes and Napster.

Due to many personal reasons, BLUE SAHARA went on hiatus early in 2010. But the way muse is - it came back.
