I heard you talkin’ with your friends, Between the gossip and hairpins, You’re talkin’ about leaving me for another man. He’s got a place on broadway. A beemer, and an M.B.A., Asking “girls, can you help me find the right words to say?” Well, here’s a few. Why you gotta go there, You see, I’m losing all control here. There’s only one way out of a dead end street. With no time for cars, I started walking. Pace by pace my fury grows. With no time for cars, I started walking. Answers are all I want to know. Why linger on the one who’s pointing a finger, When I’ve got places to go. Why you gotta go there, You see, I’m losing all control here. There’s only one way out of a dead end street. So now I’m slowly stalking, With my stride guided by the moonlight. I’m slowly stalking, With a .45 by my side! Because jealousy is endless, forcing a loving man to pure insanity. As I shot him down, I said “Son, you should have known better than to mess with me.”

Singer/Songwriter Chad Abernathy does things his own way. He started writing music at age 9, honing his craft throughout a successful baseball career in which he was a scholarship athlete at the University of Alabama and Oklahoma State University, a member of Team USA, twice named an All-American, and played professionally in The Netherlands for the UVV Red Lions. A, he retired from baseball to focus on his love of music and songwriting. Over the past eight years, he's performed in venues throughout Kansas City, the Midwest, Washington DC Metro, and Europe.
In 2013 his debut studio album, "The Journey," was released and well received. Chad was featured on Mixposure.com's "Showcase of Independent Artists," showcased at the 2014 Folk Alliance International Conference, and has received over 300,000 plays in various mediums around the world since the August 2013 release. Thanks to this reception he has steadily climbed the Singer/Songwriter charts on ReverbNation, reaching as high as #2 nationally, has frequently been in Roots Music Report's Top 10 Albums in Missouri, and began production on his 2nd studio release in October 2014.
