Some folks wait their whole lives for trouble
It never knocks at their door
others just go out and find it
getting what they're looking for

Little Boy & Fat Man busted through the door
with those crazy glowing eyes
I heard Fat Man racked that 12 gauge
I knew that things weren't going right

I didn't mean to get in this deep
I was looking for some fun
came along just for the ride
then someone handed me that gun..

(spoken)wasn't supposed to go down this way
that's how it happened..

it ended in the corner park there
out on featherbed lane
all the unpaid debts were settled up
left them lying in the rain

ate nights in the thruway diner
where old fools are telling lies
you hear somebody bring their names up
and you can hear siren whines

If you're looking for payback
or a bag of dreams out in out the rain
you
would never know it all went down
somewhere out on featherbed lane
