Wind River (For Annabelle)
Wind River (For Annabelle)
Wind River of Peace
flowing calmness in my being
Walking the moonlit trails
of my inner Annabelle
Wind River of my world
forming circles of love
where colors came alive
health breathed with life
Wind River of Wisdom
de-stresses my system
Quiet tears dried after
in the warm bonfire of laughter
Wind River of Truth
In your clarity I feel soothed
Death is a gentle guest
In you dear friend, I rest.
My friends, fear not cancer
Befriend the pain, become a dancer
Let not your mind surrender
to the misery of this adventure
Know the truth about yourself
Go deep within and delve
Use your thoughts which is your might
Seek the healing, don't give up the fight
Brave hearts face the challenge
You're strong, minimize the damage
Feel the wind in your hair
No time for despair
Remember Wind River
The love it delivers
Colors of sweet nourishment
Warmth of bonfire
Circle of laughter
Starlight of wisdom
Sure heals the system
Wind River, Wind River....

My dear Friends,
Offering my 2nd original song, which means, an original song which I have personally written, after "My Lovely Friends", which was the first original written by me after an absence of many years. :)
For this song, "Wind River", my dear friend, Billy Playle composed the beautiful music. I am deeply grateful to him. It's a real joy and an honor to collaborate with him. :)
Heartfelt special thanks to my dear friend, Fred Jam, for his invaluable feedback and additional mixing of the song.
This song is a loving tribute to lovely Annabelle Kong, and her beautiful family and friends, and also dedicated to my dear sister, Rumno, and to my dear friend, Linda.
This song, is also dedicated to all dear friends I am so honored to know who have survived cancer and to the families of those who lost dear ones to cancer, to all the beautiful human beings who are currently faced with it.
You are all beautiful incredible brave hearts!
Creating and collaborating with Billy and Fred, for Annabelle, has been a labor of love and is very special to me - finally I found a way to express what I have always wanted to say to my loved ones in this journey. Thank you Annabelle!
This song comes from a place of deep inspiration for me, when I heard the story of Annabelle.
My very dear friend, Aloka Bagchi, told me the deeply inspiring and beautiful story of Annabelle, about her love for life which she lived to the fullest till the very end, about her courageous journey with cancer, her heart full of love, compassion and caring for others even while she herself was facing imminent death and the accompanying pain that came with it. Annabelle made friends with everybody. She had that spirit of embracing everyone and everything (even cancer).
Anabelle was a friend whom Aloka knew well, loved, admired and respected deeply.
Annabelle was 29 years old when she passed away from Brain Cancer, on the 30th of January, 2014.
This is an honor for me, for something inside me responded to Annabelle's story, and her beautiful lyrical words (shared with me by Aloka), which she had written before she passed away, about her experience in this beautiful retreat for cancer patients, called, Wind River, a name that I had to keep for my song - it felt the most natural thing to do. :)
Annabelle's words awakened something in me and urged me to write a song with her words included in it, and sing it, in her honor, and in the honor of all who are going through this painful journey with cancer, including a dear sister in our family, and a very close near and dear friend of mine.
Here is what Annabelle had to say after her March 2008 experience at Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreat:
"It was an amazing experience! One that I will always remember to take with me throughout life. Wind River Retreat was everything that I hoped for. It was about developing developing a circle of friendship and the bonfire warmth of laughter, the best medicine yet!!! It was about eating an abundance of the various colors of nutrition and health. It was about expanding opportunities in yoga each morning and about creating calmness by the creek ... It was about sleeping in the moonlight of enlightenment with the Buddha each night and ultimately it was about hiking the beautiful trails of inner Annabelle and finding my Annabellenss! Thank you. - With peace, happiness and oodles and tons of love, Annabelle Kong" (March 2008)

It is a true honor and a joy to know you all!
I, Billy and Fred, hope you like the words that flowed out of me, and the music that flowed out of Billy to create this beautiful song, in harmony with the beautiful heart warming words of Annabelle. :)
