Hey man, good to see you here! First I want to say very cool avatar, dig it! This one has some cool resonator guitar parts as well as the usual interesting layered guitars you are world known for. There are some nice changes throughout but I like how overall the is a gradual build up till we get to the delayed distorted guitars towards the end. And i liked how you brought back the resonator at the end. Liked the ending. See ya around!

New, improved version uploaded 26th Feb 2013. Much improved drums and drum sounds, better EQ'd guitars, track lengthened by about a minute, heavier overall sound, especially with the addition of some metal double bass drum parts.

Mizibya: Thanks. I've actually listened to it many times over the past couple of months or so on headphones when out and about (or even just around the house) and still enjoy it. I should really upload the everso slightly improved version as that will hopefully be even more spot on. There are just a few little changes that you'd probably only notice if you compared it with the version that will be replaced.

Thanks for the review, Lucindra. I agree that it's not a very predictable track. Having no vocals, I feel I have to lots of stuff to hold the listener's interest (and mine - the most important thing). It's fair to say that all my tracks are just my personal sonic explorations so I have to keep coming up with sections that I haven't heard before.

Glad you liked that bass. It's actually guitar as you can see in my description above. I don't know if you record any bass parts in your music but I would recommend having a go at my new technique or playing it from the guitar through an octave pedal as it doesn't sound quite the same as a bass guitar, though I still play that too. I use the POG2 but there are other units that will do the job. Hope all is well with your music...

Glad you liked it, Vigwig, though I find it difficult to work out quite which bits you're referring to in your review. But, from now on, when asked what sort of music I make, I think I'll just reply 'Fuzzy Wuzzy Wah Wah Chunka Neow Neow'.

The reviews below are for a different piece of music that I made about 10 years ago. Its' called Circular Motion and is perhaps the best, most concise, enjoyable and popular thing I've done. It's still uploaded on Soundcloud so please listen to it here: http://soundcloud.com/endlessrotary/tracks?page=2

Here's my description:

Far-out, mid-tempo beat-based chillout groove music with Eastern vibes and a distinctive delayed, melodic keyboard bass and a great palette of psychedelic sounds.

Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 1980s power rock break. This is followed by a brief, synth-generated harp solo. Whole track has eavily layered sounds with great detail in their parts.

Strongly inspired by staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - one of my most inspiring bands. Made in 2001, still one of my favourite things I've done, liked by most who hear it. Even has me creating a didg-like sound by performinging vocals through a vocoder that is triggering a keyboard-based clarinet sound.

CSTRUCKIN : Glad you liked it. I've actually never heard of those two artists but may have heard their music. You never know. Please recommend a song or album by either that most reminds you of this track of mine. I don't really listen to much music that sounds like my own (maybe there isn't much, I'm not sure) but have a very eclectic taste though have been listening to a lot of stoner rock, alternative blues and related genres for the last few years.

Thanks. You inspired me to have another listen last night and I thoroughly enjoyed what I think is a brilliant piece of work. I don't say this in an arrogant, aren't-I-great kind of way. No, I stand in awe that I actually managed to create something so wonderful and compelling with so many fascinating intricacies.

I only just remembered that there are some cool little snatches of guitar in the first few minutes, such as the high panned psychedelic squeals. I guess the guitar you refer to is the more upfront stuff at the end.

I think you did what I sometimes do which is start writing a review before the track has ended and then have to come back with another comment as something cool pops up later on that you just have to mention.

I wouldn't say the percussion is very complex - it's mostly just chopping betwwen two different drum loops, which work wonderfully together but are also quite different. They're also just straight out of the Reason basic loops (Factory Soundbank)refill that have been available since the software's first release.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the track info. I can give you more if you like (just ask) and what I write may serve as an interesting read for anyone who comes after you. Surely there will be at least one...

Finally, how did you find this track - just randomly browsing through the site's 'psychedelic' genre?

Genuinely finally, please check out some of my other tracks as I'm sure there will be something of interest in them for you.

Very cool downbeat groove, reminiscent of Praga Khan or Anubian Lights.

This has that old school Roland TB 303 all engulfing bass sound.....one of my favorite sounds.....so filling !!..... the percussion almost has an urban quality that makes a white girl wanna rap.....the guitar is messmerizing.....3rd listen now.....I like this !!

05/25/11 10:49:16AM @static-nomad:
Yes, I think know what you mean as regards the TB303 sound, though this bass isn't arpeggiated. It's actually a really simple patch setting from Propellerheads' Reason software program. It is a killer sound and I do use in a very different continuation of this track that I only discovered a weeks ago. Must tart it up, especially the drums, and post it. Yes, the percussion loop has a snare that's quite urban sounding. There could definitely be a rap over this, though it's perfect without as there's so much going on anyway. Not sure about the mesmerising guitar as there isn't much. Is that the broken chord solo or the end lead winding-down psychedelic part?

Yes Jorgen, the Ozrics are legends, though I have got a little bored of the similar path they've trodden in the past ten years or so. Bit too repetitive though I haven't actually checked them out in years. It's a completely new young band apart from founder member Ed now and even featured Hal Waters (son of Roger) at one point on synths. Last saw them a few years ago doing an ambient, chillout just two synths plus drum machine set. Was like music from mystical heaven or something - unbelieveable! Talked to Ed a bit afterwards, suggested he get into slide guitar playing ( I do it a lot) but he wasn't interested! Thanks for being a fan, I only have a few, and I will check out more of your work though I have reviewed one good track already. Look out for more of my stuff being uploaded this week and beyond (of course).
